I was hoping to have one of the guards in the bag by now. I figured atleast Fultz would. With all these offers out, I thought one of the players would have felt the pressure and got their spot before someone else did. I wonder when we will get one and who does everyone think will be first?

Matt Jones said he hunks Sacha Killeya-Jones will pull the trigger first. It'd be nice to see a big secured, since there are so precious few of them. But I'm really curious to see which of these many guards we'll end up with.

Jamal Murray should have taught us to never worry about recruiting again....yet here we are
While I generally agree that we shouldn't worry too much about recruiting under Calipari, I'm not sure this past season is a great example of that.

We could have easily ended up with nobody in the Spring. We still would have been fine with Skal and Briscoe headlining our class. But there were a lot of different scenarios that could have played out leaving UK without a stud Spring recruit.

I don't know why anyone expects a commitment soon. None of our targets have set announcement dates. They are probably all going to wait until the fall so that they can get the ESPNU tv crews to cover it.

It's an excellent example. Cal missed so many he couldn't miss anymore this past season but still came out smelling like a Cat. I doubt that happens two years in a row.

I was hoping for that too. But last I heard he would be 'cutting' his list to 10 schools next.:grimace: Fingers crossed he rethinks that.

I think people are right with predictions. Fultz and Killeya-Jones will be our first 2 commits. I think the rest may wait till later. As in years past, it will be a great class in the end. I just sit back and watch Cal work.

Ummmm 3 top 10 recruits including #1 and arguably the best class in the country? Be sure.

I would love to see SKJ and Fultz pull the trigger this fall. Put those two with a core of Wynyard, Matthews, Ulis, Mulder, Hawkins, and Willis, and whoever else UK would land in the spring would catapult them into yet another Final Four discussion for '16-17. Fultz would give UK a guy capable of playing all three perimeter positions. SKJ obviously gives UK the type of inside presence who can play off of Wynyard. If Lee returns, UK would be set as far as the frontcourt is concerned. In that scenario, adding someone like Monk or Bridges (maybe even both) in the spring would act as an embarrassment of riches.

Cal has to be as giddy as a school girl right now.

I'm not sure WHO we'll get early, but I definitely think we need 2 commits this fall.

Don't want to try and fill an entire class next spring.

Jones and Fultz would make me feel pretty good as early commits.

Feeling a class seems like something Crean would do, not Cal...

LOL

It's to the point anytime someone discusses recruiting, we get told not to worry about it. It's such a big part of what we talk about here.

Our new 2015 poster is concerned about us worrying too much. He just cares, that's all.

Still very early.

I agree Poe. I was just thinking if the guards really wanted to make sure they have a spot that they would go ahead and commit before another player takes their spot.

You would think that would make sense but after last year with kids going to so many different schools, who knows?

Ulis really may be the worst "contributor" to this board and I've been trying to give dude the benefit of the doubt. Yet he pops up in every thread with either nothing to add or something to take away from the quality of the thread. One of my hobbies is following recruiting, I think it's fascinating, but I've never lost any sleep over something that is completely out of my control. With Cal here we don't have to worry that's true, following recruiting has been more fun because you know we are always going to get a quarter of the top 20 talent.

I think SKJ is our first commit, I think Fultz waits awhile given our current depth at guard.

It will be interesting to watch these guards and their timing of committing. I think as soon as Murray shows he is definitely OAD we will get one, and then the same for Briscoe, or hell vice versa!

That's what I think too. I really don't see any scenario where Murray returns and I see Briscoe as OAD as well but not 99% sure like I am with Murray. So maybe Fultz would be comfortable committing soon.
