Love this kid already. Can create his own shot and seems to love getting everyone involved. Having length around him seems like we could see some highlight reel alley oops! I think he likes to make the fancy play over the simple play, and I could see him struggling with that early. But, I think with Cal and the players around him he will be a driving force down the stretch.

He seems like a 2 year guy, so combined with the top guys we could get next year I'm really excited to seen Quade's growth.

Yeah he will be a fan favorite for sure. He will also benefit from playing against very good high school competition his whole HS career which will help from day 1 at the college level.

His on court demeanor is truly one of a kind, this kid simply understands how to play the point guard position both mentally and with his skill.

Not at all the most talented PG we've had but I honestly think he will be one of the most remembered before he's gone. I have zero concern over the 1, 3, and 4 positions next year, it's the 2 and 5 spots that are scaring the crap out of me right now.

I'm not even that worried about the 5 position. I might be in a camp all by myself on this thinking, though. From what Willis said in regards to SKJ having the most upside of anyone on last year's roster, I believe he just needs to tap in to that potential and stay focused/work hard. Really think he will turn heads if given the game time opportunity. Richards is a capable 5 as well.

Still think we get Bamba, too. If this happens, it will more than likely be our strength.

I think Quade will be really really good, especially after a few games to adjust to this level, however, I do not get the Ulis comparisons. Other than the fact they are both more pass first point guards they really don't . Ulis was probably the best true point guard I have ever seen at UK and maybe on any level. That kid just had such a high level of natural instincts, skills and heart. Even as good as Fox was this year, he was nowhere near the skill level or IQ level that Ulis was. I hope Quade is just half of what Ulis was, cause that is still good enough to me.

I see the likeness. Small, quick but not lightning like Fox or Wall, pass-first, attacks gaps instead of simply beating his matchup with athleticism, and finishes with craftiness, solid from three-point range. Perhaps these are simply the competencies of all small point guards, but by comparison to point guards like John Wall, Brandon Knight, Andrew Harrison, De'Aaron Fox, etc., Green and Ulis look to be cut from the same cloth.

Not saying I disagree with you, but how can you determine whether or not Quade has the instincts and heart of Ulis? Those seem to be things that don't show up unless you watch a decent amount of games, which you may have, but 99% of this board watches clips and reads what experts say - maybe watch a game or two.

I've watched him for a while, but it's honestly not hard to see. Quade is really really good and I'm thrilled we have him. I just have a bad feeling people are going to expect Ulis 2.0 after reading this type of stuff and then bash the kid all to hell when he isn't that level.

All of his teammates and coaches say the best thing about Green is his desire to win. Time will tell but I think he'll have heart.

Will he have the heart of Ullis? Can't say. Like you said we have evidence of Tyler at this level, and to be quite honest, I can't recall another player at UK (in my lifetime) having that much heart. MKG does come to mind.

@theGspot it's a lot of things I notice that reminds me of Ulis. The way Green gets to his spots, ballhandling, the midrange game, floater, his passing ability and leadership. His decision making isn't quite there yet but he'll get there. In no way am I saying he'll be as good as Ulis. Just reminds me of him a whole lot.

I'm with you. Not worried about the 5 with Richards and SKJ, but that 2 guard position is looking shaky.
