So the EZs are going to be a "low contrast blue and blue" checkerboard with a big white KENTUCKY over the top?
I recall a previous thread about the checkerboard but the pic posted in the other thread did not show it well at all. FWIW, I love the contrasting 5 yard strips across the field but do agree with those who think they could have done a somewhat larger mid field logo (but the current size keeps it all on the same green background). It's all good.
Peace
If you want anymore evidence of how critical these renovations and facility additions are just check out all of the recruits who are posting photos and videos on Twitter non stop.
These improvements are program changing things happening before our eyes and I think this coming season will be the final thing this staff needs to get the full attention of the type of recruits they need to compete in the SEC on a regular basis.
Agree but if you compare what has been done to what it looked like 90 days ago in bad weather the progress has been substantial. They may not get everything done, but I think most of it will get done. Rain will not halt getting the inside projects done. The outside projects look to be getting closer to completion with enclosing the box suites being the obvious major project left to do. Probably the biggest job on the exterior will be cleaning up the outside and getting all of the landscaping done. The outside painting jobs are time consuming but one of the easier projects. Highly doubt they get the team store built this year.I've been around a number of large scale Construction projects in my career, and I've seen some miracles pulled out at the last minute to get things finished on time. This is going to take one of those miracles. They have quite a bit left to do still. Don't touch anything when you get there opening day, you might get wet paint on your hands.
That being said, I can't wait to see the finished results.
Just curious, but what looks to be unlikely to be completed come opening day?I've been around a number of large scale Construction projects in my career, and I've seen some miracles pulled out at the last minute to get things finished on time. Is this more about how far they appear to need to go in terms of actually doing the work within the suites and the recruiting room or are there other things that look behind schedule?
I think things are ahead of schedule... They have the dry wall and the electricity already ran.... The glass won't be much of a problem... I would say the bells and whistles will be the more tedious things left to do on the stadium... The floor will go down fast... I like the speed they're proceeding at and can't wait to look at the final picture...I've been around a number of large scale Construction projects in my career, and I've seen some miracles pulled out at the last minute to get things finished on time. Those luxury boxes are $$$ for the athletic department. Suites will be ready come hell or high water. Now there may be limited concession/restroom availability, no landscaping, no team store, the parking lots may still be a muddy mess, etc, but you can bet they'll get those suites and club levels finished. Gotta make the big money donors happy.
Yeah I wasn't saying I disagree with that thought process at all. I was just saying we probably shouldn't be too worried about the suites getting done because of what those mean to our program in comparison to some of the other stadium features. With the past that we have in football, I am glad that we have interested big money donors, its probably the number one reason that other programs do so well with their facilities. I hope they enjoy their areas so much that in the future they will want to throw several more millions to expand the place.
