New Coaches Poll

IU with 2 votes? We need a new scheduling philosophy. Schedule 4 straight bunny out of conference games and some idiot will vote you for the top 25.

Always nice to start getting some votes. Hopefully we pick up a few AP votes as well. The folks at CBS however remain decidedly down on UK. Update 9/27 they have dropped UK 9 spots! the day after the Cat's beat a ranked Missouri team which CBS also dropped 9 spots. It appears, according to the brilliant football minds at CBS sports, that UK's win over Missouri hurt UK as much as Missouri's loss to UK hurt them. Now someone please explain the logic of that to me. All these years I thought when you lose you move down, when you win you move up. Silly me.

Memphis playing no one with 43 votes is a joke. Beat somebody for once in your shitty program's history. We would maul Memphis.

These lesser conferences don't deserve votes until they can prove it on the field. Play no one, get no votes. That's the way it should be.

Re IU and Memphis....that's the big complaint/illegitimacy about the polls. Your team is 6-1 in October? They'll be ranked, doesn't matter how putrid the schedule is. Which is why if you care about polls, we've always been in the wrong conference....

We're going to have to over-prove ourself because no one respects the SEC East

The CBS poll is a joke. Michigan beats BYU and drops. UF drops after beating UT. East Carolina drops after beating Va Tech

That's where we were after the Florida game. It actually updates during the week. I am not sure why it says updated 9/27. Same thing happened last week where it did that.

I'd say with results like what I mentioned and you also mention stating it's a joke is not a stretch. Still, it is a poll put out there by what I venture to say is a fairly reputable sports media site. IMO UK should have moved up, and Missouri down to around equivalent rankings, perhaps somewhere in the low to mid 40's. In another thread a poster pointed out that UK is the only team in the country which has played 3 conference games. As that changes plenty of those teams between UK and the top 25 will lose. All the Cat's have to do is keep winning, and they'll get there.

And Dakota, duly noted. I'll keep on eye on it this week. It does in fact say updated 9/27 though. I guess perhaps not yet fully updated.

Maybe they do a reverse poll. Lose and you move up, win games and you move down. Makes complete sense to my 4 year old grandson.

I think people really got off UK after the way Florida totally manhandled our OL.

I doubt the majority of the pollsters actually watched the Florida game. They probably just saw the score and figured it was another case of a Florida team overlooking Kentucky which kept it close.

do they release who voted for who with the coaches poll ? I don't think they do. But my guess, assuming it was 3 guys voting us #25, would be Spurrier, Malzhan, and Bob Stoops
