Went to CWS open house today. Mitch stated UK is building a 45 million dollar new stadium, breaking ground in about 6 months. Now UK just needs a new coach
Agree totally, but if UK gets in ncaa's MB will not let him go...did he say if the stadium would be for the '17 or '18 season? Seriously, I'm guessing 18 because don't see how they could do it in 5-6 months.Went to CWS open house today. Something UK should do, but won't..... install field turf at the Cliff for next year. The new stadium will have it, so get used to playing on it. Look at Softball regional at JCS yesterday, played literally all day long, several delays. Infield had a tarp, but outfield was the big problem, it is natural grass.
Old,old school here...baseball should be played on real grass and dirt, but honestly IF they actually build the new stadium I will be happy as long as we get a fresh start with everything.Something UK should do, but won't..... install field turf at the Cliff for next year. Have been told they will actually start work in July. Cliff Hagan Stadium will be the site of the new tennis complex. I'm sure that could change but tetatively thats the plan.Old,old school here...baseball should be played on real grass and dirt, but honestly IF they actually build the new stadium I will be happy as long as we get a fresh start with everything.
Great, that makes more sense than starting in November. This is a long over due project that should help UK baseball a great deal !!Have been told they will actually start work in July. Not unless we get a coaching change with it...Great, that makes more sense than starting in November. This is a long over due project that should help UK baseball a great deal !!
My cousin played for Henderson for 4 years. He was told on his recruiting visit that a new stadium would be completed during his time at UK. Six years later and they still haven't started construction. Like I said, I'll believe it when I see it.It is happening within the next two years and will replace the soccer practice field. Baseball field will then become the new tennis center. Softball, soccer, and football projects had to get done first. Supposed to be $30-40 million. Don't understand the capacity being so low though unless they plan to expand easily as demand warrants more seats.
Look at what Brent Ingram has to say on Twitter. Even he doesn't think the new stadium will happen.
Womens' Basketball ??? Mitchell keeps hiring new Ast. Coaches, and only has what 7 players ! If this is true, UK may as well drop Baseball, because they are putting everything in the world ahead of a new stadium.WHOA. Just checked out his account after reading your post, I checked out his Twitter postings. He is apparently not working for UK anymore, and he is not holding back at all regarding his doubts as to the new stadium, the issues presented by the travel budget, the bad losses this year or the prospects for next season. Calls out the money tied up in women's basketball.
Never, ever for me for Otis winning anything in any sport...If ground doesn't get broken on this bb stadium this summer after the fb facility is finished as much as MB said it would , I will NEVER believe anything he says again! !Womens' Basketball ??? A shame, because there are a lot of fans who want to have a top notch program. Our current HC has had what 8 or 9 years to get it going, and only has 2 NCAA bids to show for it. I would almost root for the Dirty Cards to win the CWS, and let the UK athletics dept. hear all the celebrating and grumbling that would surely come with that event.
