Andy Buh has been named the new asst, will coachoutside line backers, Derrick Ansley will coach all the secondsay players,an staff will all work on Special teams
Quiet a few teams go without. Richt at UGA has never had one I don't believe but I'll let Grumpy field it more accurately.Originally posted by Comebakatz3:

Yes, UGA does that, never had a designated special teams coach, at least since Richt has been there.Originally posted by Comebakatz3:

My understanding or at least what I read somewhere is that Buh will be responsible for kick-off and punters. But the overall coverage team and returners would be a group effort.Originally posted by southindycat:
Seems almost logical to me to involve the entire staff in special teams coaching. You still have a variety of position groups in special teams play.
The one thing I've never understood is who provides kicking instruction, especially in this circumstance? Consultants? Do they video the kickers and send it out for analysis and feedback? It seems that is very possible, but just not often discussed. This might be a "gray area" where the coach count is concerned, since it might be school financed, unlike QB's seeking out their own gurus.
Anyone know for certain?
How do you think that has worked out for Georgia, do you think it is a good idea?Originally posted by Grumpyolddawg:
