...when he has someone who can get him the ball. Last three games have been excellent for Noel. Tonight he had 20 points, 9 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 nice assists. He ran the floor beautifully tonight. Funny how a good guard (Sixers new acquisition Ish Smith) can make all the difference. It's not like Nerlens was bad and then suddenly got good. He had nobody to pass him the ball the last two years!

Sixers are the worst franchise in professional sports. Maybe they will draft a guard this year or trade foe one. Trade Embiid for Jerry West. West is playing same amount of minutes.

I have read where many teams are interested in Noel. I don't know what West will do with him, but hopefully he gets traded to a contender, or at least someone like Celtics soon.

I honestly think they are the worst ever. The nba should penalize them for being so pathetic and stupid. What team has 10 big men? No one but those losers.

They have won like 2/4 without the Dukie playing. I'm just saying. I actually like Okafor and think he is gonna be great (already is pretty good for a rookie), but just noticed that since he has been out they have played better.

The sad thing is the sixere sucking was no accident. But at some point these draft picks should pay off. Oh wait unless embid comes in and has acquired knowledge of how to play some point or shooting guard

Mudiay was needed more than another big man.

Another year of Embiid not playing would be very bad for them.

They need better perimeter players.

He played last night..

Ish Smith makes the difference.. they've been competitive in the 3 games he has played in.. winning 2 of them.

Ish Smth came because of D'Antoni's addition to the coaching staff. And I guess D'Antoni is there because of Colangelo.

They had nowhere to go but up, but they are making positive moves. Finally.

Sixers need to put Noel back at the 5. He's struggled block shots playing at the 4. Either trade Noel or trade Okafor. Those two don't mesh together skill-wise.

Ish Smith played for the Sixers late in the season last year. It was also during that time that Noel and the Sixers played their best basketball, which was not IMO a coincidence.

And it's not so much Ish Smith as much as having a guard who is both able to break down the defense and willing to pass and set up his teammates. Most of the guards that Noel has played with to date have been terrible at doing either.

Oh my bad. Well good for him and the 76ers. Noel and Okafor should be good together and if they can get some guard help they could be good in a few years.

Yes. And D'Antoni wanted him back.http://www.libertyballers.com/2015/...i-driving-force-behind-ish-smiths-acquisition

I didn't understand the Sixers drafting the last 3 years in all the Centers they went after in the 1st pick. Last years 1st pick was Okafor, then in 2nd Round another Center in Hernangomez from Spain, and in the 2nd round went after another Center Gudaitis from Lithuania, then in 2014 went for Embiid a center from Kansas, and in 2013 traded Holiday for Noel. That is Five Centers that the Sixers went after in first 2 rounds of the 2013, 2014, and 2015 NBA Draft. I don't understand why they didn't go after a couple of top notch Point Guards in one of those years to lead the team. The Sixers problems the last couple of years is the amount of Centers and big men they have and no Point Guards to lead and dish in the middle to make the Sixers a better team.

The Sixers aren't interested in winning in the short term nor are they necessarily interested in building a team composed of players they drafted. They aim to draft the best asset, the player they project to have the best value on the market, so that they have the choice to trade or keep him. Selecting a high volume of draft picks lets them avoid devoting all their resources into a bust.

Right. I actually like the concept. The problem is, in true sixers fashion, they're doing it all wrong. They haven't developed those assets, and have shipped out some assets with iffy returns. Embiid was a worst case scenario - you can't build value without playing - but we all knew he was a risk when he was picked.

They've got to focus on maximum value for those assets, like trade deadlines. And, you know, develop the assets in the first place.

76ers need Lakers to finish 4th in the lottery and get a legit wing player like Simmons/ingram and a great guard like Murray/Dunn

One or two great young players is all you need. Look at the Twolves, you could argue Towns is already the best player on the team even though Wiggins will be a perennial All-Star

Noel and Okahfor just need to be on seperate teams. They hinder each other's production. Ish will make it a bit better, but one needs to get traded.

In a sense, you're right here. They most definitely could put out a team that wins 35+ if they merely sought to sign some undervalued players and get some pretty good older players in trades. For whatever reason they're not willing to take such contractual risks just yet.
