Going to be awfully difficult for Ulis to keep up his excellent productivity this season fi he has to play every single second in competitive basketball games.

That is my biggest concern. Doesn't matter if everybody is better in March. If he's exhausted we go home early.

A gassed Ulis is like a car without gas, neither one will get you to where you want to be.

There has to be away to do that, play Briscoe at point with Murray at 2 and add a big, play Hawkins, play Mulder steal him some minutes on the bench some where.

Yes, you get these assistants at every +16, +12, +8, +4 Timeouts to get him on bench.
Just every dead ball before these auto TO's will give the kid at least a 3-4 minute break. Dead ball under 17 minute mark in first half, Ulis goes out. Ulis goes out at under at first dead ball before 8 minute TO. Pretty easy shi?

Any question on the durability of Ulis was answered LONG ago:

This is very concerning for me as well. According to kenpom he has played 85.9% of the minutes and he left one game early and missed another entirely. It would be nice to get him down to like 30-32 minutes against some of the lesser teams because some tough games like At A&M, at Florida, and LSU at home they will need 37-40 minutes from him.

Sure the timeouts give Ulis rest, but every player is resting as well. It is tough playing all out every minute of the game. His fatigue cost us this game down the stretch as it did the Ohio State game. He made crucial turnovers and missed crucial shots in both games due to fatigue.
He is almost always perfect, but his production in the last 8 minutes of intense games like UL, OSU, Auburn and Kansas really falls. Our offense becomes stagnant and it cost us in 3 of those games and let UL get all the way back.
His three turnovers were very uncharacteristic yesterday and killed us. The turnover on Kansas end that turned into an immediate 3 never happens. Fatigue, Fatigue, Fatigue.

Way off with that thought. Ulis lives to play. He knows when to rest.
And besides, it isn't like every game is a nail biter. LOL! Calipari didn't give Ulis much rest when we blew out Vandy and Missouri. If Calipari isn't worried about this, then why should we?

Ulis does play a ton of minutes. Subbing him right before 8 minute tv timeout in the first half and the 12 minute tv timeout in the second half could possibly help a bit.

I don't know. I'm just giving my opinion on what could be done to give Tyler a break.
If Ulis wears down or happens to get shin splints Cal will say he should have rested him more,Cal doesn't do everything right every time(Skal,Willis to name two this year) Most stuff he gets right, basketball coaching isn't an exact science there are more ways than one to do everything ,none are 100% right or wrong..

Cal's rest for Ullis is when Brisco brings the ball up and plays point for about 15 seconds, until Ulis swings back up to the top to take the ball. I actually think Cal should get Ulis out of game one min before TV time outs, particularly in first half. If Ulis had more gas in tank maybe he doesn't throw that ball away on last possession in regulation.

I totally agree. Ulis has to get some breathers. I loved our chances with the ball & 9 secs to go in regulation. I strongly feel the turnover Ulis made would not have happened had he not been worn down. That has to be why Cal was playing Ulis off the ball for a stretch, trying to get him some rest. Murray & Brisco need to step up for a few minutes & let Ulis set for just a couple of minutes. Still a great game. This team is coming together. March is gonna be fun.

He certainly is a essential player and the Cat's season hinges on Tyler Ulis' health and productivity.

wish he would of rested the last five seconds of regulation, ie given the ball to murray. would of loved to see a shot go up from him, contested or not

He's fine.

You play more games in NBA and longer minutes @ faster possession rate.

Besides, he can stay in the game and play off the ball and relax little. If the play doesn't initiate, he can go get the ball and start the offense. Which happened last night.

Actually what I observed was every time KU drove they called a foul and every time UK drove they stole the ball. Can't have it both ways
