Would likely have been hired from Troy as HC if Stoops had left . He had a decent yr as OC here , is UK alumni, KY native and had quickly elevated the Troy program as HC
Sort of , but it’s also a lesson in taking the right job. UNC and WVU usually have higher expectations that aren’t met as much …you have to be careful , but youth is on each’s side. I do think Brown will have to coordinate for a couple yrsIn case anybody is missing the OP's point, he is drawing a comparison to Sumrall right now.
WVU is a hard place to recruit and in the shadow of Penn State. HS West Virginia football almost nonexistent except in their 3 cities. Brown did better than most thought he would.70 wins 5-1 in bowls
Had a really good squad last year.
Still only mid 40s. A lot of coaches if not most start really hitting their stride late 40s-mid 50s.
He might have maxed out at WVU. Wouldn’t call it a wrap on his career though.
Plenty of guys on their 2nd, 3rd program doing well right now.
