True....but stonewalling the NCAA was one of the things, among many others, that got their football team the death penalty back in the 80's. SMU higher-ups may be more reticent to try that approach once more with the NCAA.Originally posted by ThroughBlue:
If they don't do or say a thing they should be in the clear right?
The NCAA's hypocrisy knows no bounds.I hope SMU fights this to the death.Originally posted by Desperado_1955:
No, I didn't think it or expect it to happen to UNC**, but it is the height of hypocrisy that it hasn't yet.
Lets not forget how well it worked for Duke as well with Lance Thomas. The NCAA issued a statement when the lawsuit broke saying that if no one would discuss the details with them about the lawsuit then there was nothing they could do. Basically instructed all involved "DO NOT TALK WITH US ABOUT THIS"Originally posted by G0BigBLUE00:

It's weird how being non-cooperative with the NCAA one decade can get you the death penalty------then 25 years later the same tactic is a marveling success with UNC.
Time to lawyer-up.
Is that sarcasm without a clue.?Originally posted by MdWIldcat55:
Unbelievable. In its latest statement the NCAA says:
"By pursuing allegations against Larry Brown, a former player and assistant coach at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, the NCAA is also fulfilling its obligations to hold that institution accountable and punish it for some imprecision in educating its student-athletes. As such, we consider the UNC investigation closed."
