Naz Reid trims list to two...

Cal rolling the dice with thoughts of guys coming back next year, only reason why one would think he didnt offer Reid? If we had id imagine were right there with him.

Did we drop him then? Wondering also about another kid I heard about "dropping" us from his list. He's a 4 star from the 2018 class, but I didn't catch his name.

'Zona seems to be consistently in the mix for great recruits. No doubting Miller's ability to recruit though I doubt he gets this one. I mean why not take a free trip out to the desert. Heck if I were a 5 star I'd take every visit allowed whether I really thought I'd go there or not. I'm fairly certain that's happens to UK in some cases.

We only ever showed Reid token interest for some reason. Can't remember who said it but apparently there would have been some kind of hurdles to overcome to get him.

He went to the same high school as Briscoe I think.

Why visit UK when Miami USC UCLA and others are available if were just going for the visits?

I think youre exactly right. At the very least, he isnt sure enough guys are leaving; and incoming one and done hopefuls are gunshy.

Because as our former, and now disgraced coach said, it's the "roman empire of college basketball". Why not go witness the passion of our fans. Tour Clainborne Farms, and the beauty of Kentucky particularly in the spring and fall.

Because I can go to the beach everywhere else and slay babes. Much better than touring a farm imo. Location location location

Did you ever see Secretariat romp around in his pasture? I did. Yea, I get I, I have the perspective of an old man, and you that of a young man. But I've known both, and were I a parent of a 5 star recruit I'd advise him to go have a look at Lexington and Kentucky, and meet with coach Cal. There's a lot more to life than slaying babes. That's easy. Making a name for yourself in this world isn't.

I absolutely 100% see / relate to what you're saying but a bunch of 16-18 year old 5 star teenagers aren't interested in old horses, horse racing , pretty farm land etc if it's just a recruiting trip for "fun"

UCLA, Miami , USC , ... etc are more "popular " cities that are probably more enticing to these guys who want a weekend of fun.

Your right. I'd wish I'd had the perspective as a teenager I do now. I might have actually studied in HS, and had the opportunity to go to a place like say Vanderbilt. But I didn't. I to fell prey to a young man's passions.
Fortunately with the help of the people at UK I woke up.

I think he would've already committed to us
If it's true that we just passed on Reid then it's Cal's biggest mistake since prioritizing Bolden over Allen, good chance we go all the way with Allen on last years team. I hope it's not true.

Another 5 star that won't develop in college basketball. Hope he leaves early like Blankney(sp?)

I understand the connection that LSU had with Ben Simmons. And I understand JaVonte Smart being from Baton Rouge committing to LSU. BUT, how in the world are they able to get 5-star recruits like Antonio Blakeney & Naz Reid.

This just helps the SEC improve, IMO. Glad he chose them over Arizona myself.

Nice player and would loved to have had him on next years' team, but in Cal I trust; he's proven he knows what he's doing.
