Napier on 4th down????

While I wouldn't have done it, I think a (weak) argument could be made for the one near their 40. The second one was a really bad, Frostian decision. If the don't make it, you've basically given UK a short FG attempt to ice the game without even making a first down. All risk/very limited reward. Sometimes these coaches really overthink things.

Agree, but I figured since was in for it after the first one, he would try it again. He was getting desperate. His defense was playing decent when they tried the first one. Plenty of time on the clock. After we got the ball on downs I knew Stoops wouldn't call another pass play. He doesn't take unnecessary risks. Play for the 2 score lead then let your defense win it for you.

One of them was justified. The other though was a head scratcher.
Yeah the second one he had to although one of the reasons he had to was bc he went for it on the first one. I couldn’t believe he was going for it on the first one. Even the announcers were confused and they were sucking UF off the whole game.

Until the game was pretty much over. Then the announcers started mentioning giving Kentucky respect.
Nobody's giving us respect....we're taking respect.

I was watching with my dad and told him they were going for it on 4th down before they did it, and he said no way who in the hell would go for it here.

I then explained that their head coach is a riverboat gambler and the reason they beat Utah was Florida gambled constantly and AR’s athleticism came up flush everytime against the 5’10” white guys Utah had out there trying to tackle him.

Napier did his riverboat gambling against SEC athletes and Stoops/White took a gator bite size chunk out of his ass for it.

I don’t think it was disrespect as much as desperation. He didn’t think they had a chance if we got the ball back.
it was probably too early to be thinking that, and I would say it was a poor coaching decision. I just think he believed if they punted, we would drive down the field while eating the clock.

It was idiotic. Both times. We scored 3 points offensively the 2nd half up to that point. They punt and we have to go 80. They allowed our best unit to be the ones with the opportunity to make plays.

I think we win either way though. We were the better team.

I mean, WTF was he thinking not once but twice??
True.
And the last one was terrible play call. Rolling him out for a throw on the run with a bad passer. Threw it way low, behind him …total mess of calls

Stoops giving up on 3rd. down before the missed field goal was a bad call. Not as bad as Napier, but a poor call.
I would have supported the call if we were closer to the end zone, like the last field goal attempt. That was not an easy attempt for a college kid in a pressure situation. Could have very easily cost us the game.

Dude it was a chip shot FG. I guess you would have rather him roll the dice and throw a pick 6?!
Glad you aint coaching pal.
Stoops wins, like it or not!

No, what's with the aggression man?
This aggression will not stand man...
Was not a chip shot and was a ton of pressure on Ruf. I would not throw pass in that situation. Other calls can be made in that situation. A qb. draw up the middle for instance...

Stop sobbing. You ain't seen aggression. Im like the Incredible Hulk, “You wont like me when Im angry.”
That’s your theory going up in smoke by the way at the end.

He thought Lamar Jackson was in the huddle and it turn out to be a guy starting his 3rd game and got desperate.

With more than 8 minutes on the clock and holding three timeouts, I was shocked.

Total desperation.

The one with 3/4 minutes was a bit more excusable, as he had a legit fear of our running out the clock.

Coach knew his defense was toast. They were wiped out. He really didn’t have a choice. That’s what happens when you’re playing a team that leans on you for emote games. We imposed our will and it showed big time.
