After watching the HOF presentation last night, any basketball recruit that is offered to come to Kentucky and doesn't jump at the chance is plain stupid. Now, I said "offered" because as Cal said in his pre-HOF interview the program is not for everyone especially those that are afraid of the limelight. But, we saw everything in the HOF show. Our legacy with guys like Dan Issel, Louie Dampier, Pat Riley, our recent past with Cousins, Wall, Davis, and tons more, and our present with the new players all invited to not only attend the ceremonies but to get up on stage. And, finally, Cal himself who had a phenomenal yet humble presentation thanking everyone for the honor to be selected in the HOF. The only thing I didn't like was to have a recording of Coach K. talking about Cal's accomplishments (we didn't need him in the mix). Nevertheless, when you see every aspect associated with the Kentucky basketball program and someone is offering you the chance to join this special group of family and you go elsewhere? Stupid!
It was really inspiring to watch the program, with the Kentucky banner hanging on the stage and right in the television camera for every single stage presentation, combined with everything else made me so proud of Cal, our program and the Big Blue Nation.
