My 3 takes

Defense amazing

C. Rod….Dude is a beast, literally drags defenders and just trucks people. I’m

Will…toughest QB ever at UK? The man takes some hits.
Yes, Willis is tough, but you never saw Billy Jack Haskins play, apparently. Played a whole half against Tennesse with a broken shoulder and was awarded the nation's Most Courageous Player award.

BJH was a stud…but it was over for him during practice his freshman year when Melvin Johnson lit him up and dislocated his shoulder

BJH could have really been something

Scan is not an idiot. SMH

This is the first game that Levis didn't have the hell beat out of him. OL opened quite a few holes for CRod & Co. Clearly, their best game.

He made some very bad calls and some very good calls this game. We scored 27 points and knelt down on their 1 yard line. 30+ points isn't good enough for you?

The game plan was obviously to use Rodriguez as much as possible, keep Levis upright and throw to keep the D honest. If Levis doesn't telegraph the pick-6, he plays arguably his best game all things considered.

We're NEVER going to throw the ball as much as some fans want. He'll, we just beat the #16 ranked team by 10 points and it very easily could have been worse. What the hell do you want?

I remember him moving all the way up from 5th-string to starter and team captain during his career. Helluva football player and inspirational leader.

Well his name was Billy Jack so.................

I was in the stands that day, the run he made of 30 to 40 yards with one arm hanging by his side I have never seen anything like it.

Everyone here should recognize how successful CROD and the rushing game was with Levis under center. I think the line responded better, too.

239 rushing
239 passing

Levis didn’t telegraph that. Scan called 3 straight screens. They knew it was coming.

I was there, too. I think we lost 34-33, unfortunately.

Yep. 4th and short 2 should have been to give to CRod or a quick slant. The play had already been called twice on that drive and when the receiver turned and stepped back a couple of yards before the snap he gave the tell to MSU. That wasn't on Levis.

Anyone questions Wills toughness after ole miss bc of the turf toe (which is a painful injury especially for a while on his plant foot) need to stfu. Will could have very easily not returned tonight after getting driven into the ground on his shoulder and nobody would have questioned it. A lot of lock top 10 picks with a questionable Oline and an abysmal first half may have very well stayed in the locker room and reevaluated during the bye week

We dominated in this game and score was much closer than it should have been. Ended game with kneel down at the 2 yd line and also had the kick return TD called back on the penalty. Our o line and C Rod literally wore out the State D. They had nothing left in the tank by the 4th Qtr. We had too many penalties in first half to get on track, but imo, it was an overall dominant performance.

And to the side of their 1st rd draft pick corner. Epically bad play call. If you're insisting on throwing it at least play fake to CRod.

The 1 st half was FUGLY! Too many dumb penalties and an inexcusable fumble. In all, this was a great, gutsy win for the Cats

My takeaway is I’m glad we beat MSU but we are gonna get smacked by UT and UGA.

Everyone's beer goggles have already been broken out on this board about the tn game. It's always talk, let's see some action and win one of these games.

Watched him gut out a touchdown run with that shoulder bouncing up and down with every step. The pain must have been excruciating.

1. DEFENSE! = AMAZING!!!
1a. C-ROD!!!!!
2. Levis playing through pain and being The MAN!
3. Clean up the stupid penalties...

Or if he ran crod first and goal at Ole miss we may have won that.
Why would that have stopped Levis from being anxious and calling for the snap before everyone was set?

People jumping on with the basketball blog and their irrational hate vendetta against Coach Scan are so low-effort

Was going to post this on the C Rod thread, but a Vol A-hole has taken it over . . . but my 2 cents is that Chris is the best RB I have seen at UK, but also has the advantage of having a better supporting cast (esp at QB and WR) than Benny ever had at UK. Some games, pretty much Benny Snell left, right and center was about the only offensive play we had any confidence in. With first Bowden running the triple option, and then Levis and co. showing up the last two years, defenses can't key on Chris like they could with Benny.

Na the toughest QB ever goes to Billy Jack Haskins. Back when Bill curry was the coach, we played a game against UT and BJH broke a 47 yard option run for TD in which he broke several tackles and he did it all with a separated shoulder. I honestly can’t imagine playing Curry’s option style offense with a separated shoulder. He’d get my vote

Not football, this loss means nothing, rankings don't matter at all right now. We be alright we'll beat Gonzaga and everybody else in non conference lose 2-3 in sec, no 1 overall seed in tourney. He definitely will have the players attention now.

Wrong board my friend.

Benny had a way better o-line
