Not sure if this is being covered enough but you have to have DEPTH and you better have a lot of it to compete in the new NIL world of college hoops. I don't have proof, but it sure seems to me that kids are more likely to sit out the season and take a pay check versus play hurt these days. Noting there is a difference between playing with an injury and playing through pain. I'm convinced that you need to have a full compliment of 13 players and not just fillers. You need guys who can practice at full speed and be available to play in games. KY lost 3 guards last year plus Carr for several games. Perry and Chandler did there best but they weren't exactly college ready players in year one. Previously years we were gutted by injuries which was further complicated because Cal never filled his roster. I appreciate that Pope appears to address roster construction differently. Because he has 13 guys who can actually contribute and they are going to be needed.
