And just like that, kid is now shooting 39% from 3, which is about what we all expected and averaging 17.1p, 4.4r and 2.9a. That's a helluva line...and, of course, a tad misleading. He's been good, but I'm hoping he'll be a lot better.

The OSU game helped his stat line a lot. I am way more optimistic for Murray than Skal.
But, Jamal needs to greatly improve his overall FG%. 42% is bad for a SG. Needs to turn the ball over less and be WAY more consistent in games. He tends to be awful one half followed by a spectacular half.
Hopefully he is on his way to being what everyone thought. Second half of OSU is a great start.

Murray has struggled adjusting to playing without the ball in his hands. He has the ability to take over a game and we saw that, after we'd gotten ourselves in too deep a hole, Saturday. We've got to get better at getting him going early. I'd personally like to see more time with Murray, Ulis or Briscoe, and Willis out there together. One point guard to penetrate and create for others, and two scoring focused guys.
Murray does what Cal asks him to do. If he didn't he would be getting yelled at and sat on the bench. If Cal says shoot he is going to shoot. If Cal says pass to the post he is going to feed the post. I've sat and watched Murray in HS and he does what his coach asks him to do. Never seen him do otherwise.
I'd like to have another 2 Murray's on the team. Dude is on the cusp of being a major player don't see how others can't see it.

I thought this team would be one of Cals better shooting three point teams with Ulis and Murray running things. I think in the end it will end up around where I was hoping.

Really optimistic about Murray. Nice to have a versatile guard who can take over a game during the tourney. Of course, we need some other guys to step up as well and I believe they will.
I thought he was kind of known for being stubborn and not the best listener. That's what Cals challenge was going to be and what Jamal's people thought he would benefit most by working with a strong personality like Cal.
Never noticed it with him in his HS games. He never argued pouted or was out of control. Played within himself and always passed it to his teammates first unless he was wide open. That was rare. When games got tight or they were behind his teammates wanted him to have the ball and he would be double and triple teamed. Very exciting player to watch.
What we saw against Ohio St is pretty much his game. He will initiate the offense feed the others and will score a little here and their. Before you know it he would have 15-6-8 at the end of the 3rd. If they were behind he would finish with 30 lol all comin in the 4th.

Ulis needs to start hunting his jumper and making teams pay for giving him an inch.
Murray has that mentality but Ulis is hesitant. To be the best team we can be, we need that from both of them, all the time.
