T. Jones had 35 v AU in Jan of '11.
Murray hit 7 of 9 threes.
Thank God he picked UK instead of Oregon or we might be NIT bound.
27 pts in 2nd half alone and all 7 three balls.
He has a chance to be the most prolific scoring guard at UK since Knight.

Cal needs to realize this and adjust some things.

2013 didn't get better until march. Same thing with 2011. These guys will be ready by march.

With his 7 for 9 today he went from 33% up to 39%. Now, if we can just get Tyler a little closer to what he did last year then teams wouldn't be able to collapse on UK like OSU did today.

Im going to go out on a limb and say the 27 pts and 7 threes in one half are the most ever by any UK player in a half not named Meeks and maybe Issel.

Only Bledsoe has more made threes in a gm (8) by a UK Fr.than Murray's 7. Murray hit all of his in 1 half.

Murray raises his season shooting percentages a ton with today's ouput

42% FG and 39% 3pt...he is going to have a really good season and deserve a top 5 NBA draft pick.

We're seeing the blueprint emerge about how to use Murray, but I'm worried if we aren't able to get any offensive production from the inside (and I don't mean guards driving to the basket). We have no low post scoring threat to go to when the game is on the line, as we saw down the stretch today, and it's killing us.

Poythress is inconsistent and not aggressive enough. Lee is aggressive but has very little touch around the basket and is not much of a threat to score outside of set lobs and fast breaks. Skal is too weak to be a consistent low post scorer.

I don't think we're an NIT team, but if Cal doesn't start approaching this team with an open mind and make some changes and "tweaks" then there's a very real possibility that we will not make it out of the first weekend of the real tournament. Yes, he took Towns from finesse big man that shot jumpers and turned him into a low post scoring machine, but Towns had the body to make it work. He needs to realize that Skal is completely different from Towns, so either use him to his strengths or put in someone that will play tough and like a true post the way Cal wants.

I know he doesn't like it, but he might just have to realize that this is a team that might have to play some sort of gimmicked style in order to maximize their potential.
