Shot UK out of this game. Very reminiscent of Archie G a few years back. When shots are falling it's all good but can't seem to realize that when he goes cold to pass it up. I know, I know, a shooter shoots out of a slump but damn! Shot us straight out of this game against a very bad Auburn team. Embarrassing.

So tell me...who would you suggest take his shots? Hard to find offense inside...and we're shorthanded from a distance.

My issue is Murray trying to handle the ball too much and get his own shot, which he started doing. He was 2 for 2 from three point land right off the bat when he was relaxed and then he ran around like a wild man the rest of the game. Oh well.

Totally agree with you. He can be a black hole and when shots aren't falling does little in the way of team play.

Murray..Ulis.. Briscoe..16/FIFTY ONE...agree totally on Murray

The turnover on the inbounds hurt bigtime. Freshman mistake there.

Not really any other offensive options. Certainly none inside.

I think for this team to make a run we might need Murray to go into full Kobe mode on offense ... and then we pray.
Jason, I'm curious if Wynyard would make a difference. A little improvement on the low post might take some pressure off Murray. He is forcing his offense.

Murray is feast or famine, he gets you jacked up one minute and has you pulling your hair out the next. If he would just play solid fundamentals and make solid passes when the shot isn't there he would make a bigger difference in the game. Hopefully Cal can get the point of making the easy play across to him before March. Of course, no inside game doesn't help but the NIT crowd is overstating things. UK is a tournament team, how far they go depends on whether or not they make strides as the season goes which doesn't seem to be happening at the moment.

Murray is our best player, but he does take too many bad shots. He did again today. His defense is terrible as well. He can never stay in front of his man. Still, he's the least of our problems. The coaching staff is doing a pitiful job this year and our interior players are WEAK. Not a good combination. We lost to a pathetic team today.

Thats pretty much how I felt today. First half I'm yelling his name. Second half I'm yelling it with other words as well.

He's still the best option Kentucky has far and away. Funny thing is he shot 40% on threes but only 33% in close. He didn't drive hard enough tonight, only shot one free throw.

who else should be shooting? We have almost zero offensive talent.

How about doing what Tyler does? Drive and dish. Come on man, you have to agree you weren't feeling the same way watching him shoot in the second half. Jesus, he couldn't throw it in the ocean. I understand you don't agree with my post but you can't deny what we all watched today from him in the second.

no, I watched the whole game and Murray did not seem to be anywhere near the reason we lost

he has to shoot, and I thought he took mostly good shots

Agree. He is our best option but he's got to realize his best weapon is his body driving in and drawing fouls. Not shooting off balance shot from 15 feet plus.

It's not that he shoots us into and out of games. He is a terrific scorer when he lets the shots come to him. He is become a very good shooter off screens and out of the offense, but when he drives and forces his shots it becomes a bad situation, which he did a little too much tonight.
However ... I agree ... For UK to make a big run with no post presence ... He may have to get 35 plus a night ... be UK's Buddy Held ... which is asking a lot.

Murray is our best player. He's a Freshman, and he takes some bad shots. The inbounds turnover, nobody was open. Nobody. He could have called a TO, and then we would have had 1 TO left with 7 minutes to go. It's so easy to get on here after every game and act like you have the answers to everything. So many of you should be making the big bucks, but for whatever reason you chose to sit at home on your asses with a remote controller in your hand dissecting gameplay with your DVR.

By now you just take what you get with him, that's not our issue. Our issue is zero consistency inside. Marcus Lee, god love him, should have stayed with volleyball. He lacks the intensity needed to become any kind of player. People complain about the play of Poythress but he you want him to do something, you need to pass him the ball. I thought most of them played hard today, shots just not falling and when a team hit 13 three pointers including a bank shot from 25 feet, you kinda sense its not your day. Once again I know not much about the game but would Wynyard or Humphries have done any worse than what was out there?

He melted when we needed him the most. Had terrible shot selection down the stretch, and missed a wide open corner 3 that might've iced the game. One of the streakiest shooters i've ever seen. If he makes 3 in a row, you can bet he's gonna miss the next 4 or 5 in a row.

Ulis took many of those late game shots that missed. He and Murray had off nights, oh well, next game they will do better.

Murray's shot selection at times is not good, but besides Ulis and Willis, who do you recommend getting shots? Briscoe? He makes nothing but a lay-up and if he gets fouled it's like a turnover. Lee? Same as Briscoe, but Lee has a hard time making anything minus a dunk. We are left with Poy. And when he is in the frame of mind or mood he was in today he gives us NOTHING but a casual stroll and an I'm not interested in this today look. Cal may have to run mulitple stuff for our 3 players that can actually shoot the basketball on a consistent basis. We wouldn't be the only team in history to do this. I would rather our shooters get all the shots vs spreading it around with the ones that can't throw it in the ocean.

Murray might be up and down, but at least his game has an "up" unlike others on the team.

The inbounds turnover was a careless mistake, he was stepping inbounds before he threw the ball. Throw the ball, step inbounds
