Well duh, he's Canadian they don't even have cable and just now getting flip phones. 
No phones, no lights, no motor cars. Not a single luxury. Like Robinson Crusoe, it's as primitive as can be.

And he will Wildly succeed ignoring those aspects of life. Phones, tv's, computers, etc.... Are all distractions. Where is your focus? Every time we have kids who buy into this way of thinking, they out perform nearly everyone on the team. Wish more kids would wise up and take the instruction, but tis wut tis.
