Multiple teams interested in giving Nerlens Noel max contract~4 yrs $108 million

What's the over and under on the amount he gives to charity once he receive that contract? Any takers on he won't give anything to charity or he will give at least a million? That is the type Cal raises. he doesn't call them his sons for nothing...:lock:

During law school we had a NYT writer come speak to our sports law class (Joe Nocera, I think) circa 2011. He was good friends with Pete Thamel, and was in the midst of a series of articles bashing the NCAA. He took some pot shots at Noel (still a recruit at the time, I think), saying there was so much smoke there had to be fire re: his handler. After a bit of discussion, he said he'd take under $10m for his lifetime earnings, predicting he would be a problem kid. Also had to correct him re: 2010 team going to class (his version: no one in the spring; the truth: all but Orton).

I should have memorialized that bet via email follow up.

Happy for Nerlens, but man, he sure doesn't seem like a max contract player to me.

Averaged 9 and 6 last year with just 1 block per game.

Max contract for a player that's at best a 10ppg...10rpg....4bpg?

Wow, these teams must have money to burn.

4BPG would have led the league for the past 22 seasons. That has to be worth some thing. 10 and 10 may not be great but don't throw the 4BPG in there like it's a similar number.

That's not true. You can add in about 2 stls as well. With the right guards around him, he's capable of being a max player. The one concern is if he can stay healthy.

$27 million a year for a player that's basically giving you Clint Capela production? Hell to the naw. But if someone is gonna give him that then I don't blame him for signing.
