I agree. I feel bad for him. When he signed here he was filling a needed role on our team. And then thankfully our pieces fell together and we ended up being loaded again. It's just Canada is a loooooooong way to come to ride the bench.
This. He was getting left behind way too easily. You see him getting abused on defense? That's why he isn't playing

I'm sure if the team was already assembled he would have landed somewhere that he'd been playing like Indiana. Next year isn't going to be any better.
If I was him id go ahead and announce I was transferring and sit out the second semester so Hed only have to sit until Christmas next year at a school where he'd be in the rotation.
Said it perfect . People always have that one guy who they think should play more but 99% the coach knows what he is doing . Mulder is like the 9th best player we have so he should play 9th . Simple as that.People want him to play more due to the fantasy that plays out in their minds - one where Mulder comes in and hits a few threes each game.
Lost in that fantasy are the realities regarding his ability to consistently defend, play cohesively within a new offensive system or generally outperform the NBA players who are ahead of him in the rotation in order to warrant taking minutes from them.

You realize he was in Vincennes, Indiana last year ... right?
These type of posts Crack me up..you do realize every college team has 12 or kids on the roster, right? So is every kid that isn't in the first 7 or 8 supposed to transfer off every team?I agree. Me too, for pay. Not for free though. Too many options. Why do so many people assume that it's awful to ride the bench? I have a great career and a great life, but if ANY (that includes the 76ers) NBA team gave me a chance to ride the bench I'd do it in a heartbeat.
No. But there is a difference between not getting playing time at an average college vs not seeing the floor at UK with the constant flow of high NBA talent. It's not a negative post on him. He was considered a very good jr college pickup and would probably play somewhere else. He isn't someone like Hood or Jarred P who grew up dreaming of playing here. These type of posts Crack me up..you do realize every college team has 12 or kids on the roster, right? Well put. Funny how some just jump to conclusions so quickly. Makes me wonder if some only read the title of the thread, then answer. Nice job, good supporting example.No. But there is a difference between not getting playing time at an average college vs not seeing the floor at UK with the constant flow of high NBA talent. I guess Wiltjer should have been content to ride the bench and count his blessings that he was playing for UK as well? No, he went and found a better situation and better fit for himself.

Yeah, up to that point him being from Canada was brought more to the forefront than being in IN. But, you're right. Unfortunate situation for him. Would love to see him provide what he was targeted for somewhere.Except that's not really where came here from. Mulder spent the last two years living and playing at Vincennes, in southern Indiana, which of course ain't far at all. .
Mulder's hopes for real PT pretty much died the day Murray committed. The reason Cal offered Mulder was because, at that time, we'd just been rejected by several targets and it appeared we had a desperate need for another wing who could score. But then Murray re-classified, picked us, and, well, turned out we didn't need him after all.
I was one that was excited to see him here. Not due to some freakish ability, but hopefully be someone who could provide consistency with the 3 ball, as he was touted, something we'd be lucky to get with Booker leaving, who was a tad streaky with the 3, although still very good.He didn't start for jus JUCO team, I really didn't think he would contribute much this year anyway. Not sure why everyone was celebrating like we found MJ when he signed. Hopefully he can contribute in spot duty next year when we need some long distance scoring.
Mulder just has too much talent ahead of him. Murray, Briscoe, and Matthews are just better wing players. Then there is Hawkins who has real game experience ahead of him as well. Throw in Willis, who is bigger, and the wing spots are just too crowded to give Mulder much time.
With Matthews, Hawkins, and Willis likely back and adding Monk and Gabriel, the situation isn't likely to get much better. But a year in the system could help. JUCO's usually do not do very well in their first season. Maybe after a year he will be ready to challenge for some minutes.

Nonsense. If the op is not a troll he is missing a good opportunity.
