Most losses in CFB since 2000

Vandy just has no shot in hell in ever being relevant in the SEC (yes I know they had a few good teams under James Franklin)

Cannot for the life of me understand why the University of Illinois can't solve the football problem. Way too big of a state U, in a football conference, to have such a terrible program.

I can understand IU, third best football school in a state that really doesn't produce many good football players, and has been overshadowed for most of the last century by basketball.

Have plenty of family in the Denver area, and from what I hear, I just don't think Colorado gives a crap about big time college sports, attendance is not great for football and are routinely terrible in basketball as well.

Brooks should also get some credit that we're not on it.
I liked the old man, but recruiting had really went into a tailspin before he left. Partly due to facilities and partly due to an older staff that wasn't willing to put the effort in that was needed. Joker tried to go with a younger more energetic staff for recruiting, but they couldn't match up in the coaching department. Brooks also ran into a lot of good in state talent during his time here.

Dang shame Cutcliffe couldn't do more at Duke (yeah, I know). He's a good coach who did some awesome stuff with scrappy teams. Reminded me of Brooks' UK teams some years.

Back in winter of '95, I worked in Boulder for several weeks and attended a couple Buffs MBB conference home games with two other Kentucky boys.

We were stunned both at the sparse crowd (maybe 1,500 in attendance)...and by how the referees kept looking up at us each time we complained about a bad call. Of course, as everyone else was graveyard quiet, I suppose our enthusiastic objections were conspicuous. :p

Iowa State surprised me. It seems like they’ve had quite a few fairly decent teams.
That’s why I’m a Matt Campbell fan. Since 1920, they have had 21 coaches…2 have had winning records at ISU. Campbell and Earl Bruce back in the 70’s.

But for the Stoops hire, we would probably be near the top. As it is, we're barely off the list.
It is a good thing he saw the opportunity here after the program was starved to death for a full decade. Still way too much to overcome his first TWO win season with the ten years with zero real upgrades.

Stoops added 13 four star recruits his first two years here, how many did Joker add in his three years? And Joker was always known as a good recruiter------until he ran into the support UK football had for a full decade.

Two basketball schools. Our AD was smart enough to know he couldn't touch BB's support for his non-revenue sports.

Kansas has been the worst P5 program by far, which makes it harder to believe that in 2007 they finished 12-1 and won the Orange Bowl.

Yes. Mark Mangino. Awesome coach for the Jayhawks. His mouth and tactics (player treatment) got him in trouble. I know they miss him.

Very good post. Brooks got tired of trying to win with no support for football and Joker took over a hopeless situation, TWO four stars that were any good against seven of the eight SEC foes that AVERAGED 38 four star commits the prior four classes, plus five stars.

Joker took a team to play Florida on the road thar started two four stars and MORE two stars than three stars. Plus two walkons starting.

Look it up, I did.

How in the hell Syracuse and Rutgers pull good recruits every year is mind boggling. They get a few players every year that had several choices and picked a perennially bad team.

I was at a sparsely attended ga.e once, can't even remember who was playing! But at a egregious no call I shouted out about the ref swallowing the pea in his whistle. Everyone in the arena heard it, and the all looked at me with WTF faces. Do people really not know?! Regardless, I don't embarass easy, so I kept making an ass of myself throughout the game.😁
