And I mean that wholeheartedly, without a doubt. I still think we have a good team that can win six games, but this one definitely stings and will for a while. That streak being snapped and a signature win was right there for the taking and we still couldn't get it done. Just hoping we can pull it together and beat Mizzou next week.

I'm actually a football-first fan, and I was more disappointed with the Wisconsin loss. UK just gave that game away (IMO) by hitting the brakes too early.

Don't get me wrong though. The Florida loss hurts. Bad.

GBB!!!

If you want to emotionalize losses like this, that's a mistake. Players and coaches give the best effort they can, then move ahead to the next game. Prior to this game, there was way too much talk here about how bad the Florida losing streak makes some fans feel. So what? But Stoops, Dawson, and Towles aren't responsible for the streak. Every game is important to them. This is a bowl team, but nobody in their right mind ever believed this team would go 12-0. Get a grip. You will feel better after we beat Missouri.

I don't doubt for a bit that the players and coaches do the best they can under the circumstances, that's what makes me a fan. And you're right, I know I'll feel better after we play Mizzou next week. Like I said, I still think this is a bowl team. But I guess myself, and a lot of others, just wanted this one really bad and it feels like a golden opportunity to put an embarrassing streak to an end slipped through our hands.

Much better post, if I may say so. All of us want to win, every week. You aren't alone. But losses happen in competitive sports. How do you think Auburn and Louisville fans are feeling today? LOL! This will be a positive season for us.

Very good point. Last night as my brother, friend and I were leaving the stadium, we said "well, at least we aren't UofL"...0-3 never looked so good, lol.

No way does this loss compare to UK losing to Wisconsin in the Final Four. It is not even close. When we played Wisconsin we were two wins away from winning our 9th national championship and being the nation's first 40-0 team. Last night was a mere regular season football game. We can still go onto a winning season and a bowl game.

I think some of us need to take a deep breath and not allow the unbridled hype and optimism which existed before this football season started cause us to lose a realistic assessment of our football team. While Stoops has recruited better players than Joker, the players he has signed, though better, were still rated as 10th best in the SEC. Additionally, our better recruits are, for the most part, freshman and sophomores. In the SEC, they will be playing against teams which have much better juniors and seniors that what we have.

Let's see

- UK had a chance to win a national championship, hang up #9 to help catch UCLA and do it in all time great team of college basketball history by going 40-0.

- UK football had a chance to end a 28 year losing streak but in the end, this UK team will have been no better than 7 wins and another Music City Bowl and UF will in all likelihood be a 4-4 SEC team.

Yeah...I'll go with beating Wisconsin as more important.:flushed:

I feel your pain. I am so disgusted to be a UK football fan knowing that UF has beat us 29 times in a row. It is such a pathetic losing streak it makes me sick.

Well Wisconsin was a game UK had won and choked away. That hurt the most to me. I just felt Florida was better last night and the only reason the game was close was because of UK's defense and Florida's inability to get out of their own way on offense.

It's not that I mean this game was more important, obviously the Final Four game trumps this one in that regard. However, I've been alive for three national championships in basketball and after that, there are five more for us to be proud of. I want UK to win as many hoops titles as possible but even if we don't, we will more often than not be in the hunt every year and we still have a tradition to be proud of if we aren't.

I want us to take the next step in football, though, and become a respectable SEC program. I'm sure all of you feel the same way too. But for that to happen, these 25+ game losing streaks have to end. In all, I guess I would just rather have football prominence than another basketball title, and a win last night would've been another stepping stone in achieving that goal.

Any time your playing for a title it trumps anything. It sucks losing to Florida big time but last year it stung me even worse than this year.
After watching the first half last night I turned the tv off and radio. I knew that it wasn't going to be any different offensively for us as we have showed all year that our guys do not make adjustments on the O. Other teams make adjustments at half time but we do not.
