Another site is reporting Montgomery remains a high priority for UK in 2025...how doe this factor in with Boley...I thought he was a 25? Does this mean he is reclassifying?
Thanks in advance

Stone Saunders is also a '25. I think Boley reclassifies and that's based on nothing but a guess. I also think Coen/UK really like Montgomery. Be fun to watch how all the pieces are juggled but I also think Coen will find a good QB.Another site is reporting Montgomery remains a high priority for UK in 2025...how doe this factor in with Boley...I thought he was a 25? Ya I have as much faith in Coen as I’ve had in any UK OC, but I’d be lying if I said I thought he’d be here for long, short of Stoops stepping down and Coen getting the job in the next couple years. That’s not a prediction but it’d have to be something big like that to keep him I think.I have zero doubts that as long as coen is here, he gets no worse than his second option. His lethal combination of elite coaching and elite charisma will have us offensively the most talented ever. Already has really and we'll just keep climbing.
The only obstacle we'll have are the neverending (but fair) question of how long he'll be here.
If Boley stays in the 2025 class, then Coach Coen wants to maximize his chances to sign one of them. I would think if Boley reclassifies forward to 2024, then Coen goes for Boley in 2024, then Montgomery or Stone Saunders in the 2025 class. Either situation could turn out well. With redshirt possibilities, Coen could put two seasons between his 2024 and 2025 signings if Boley makes the kind of rapid progress that his size and evaluations suggest he might be capable of. But this is recruiting, so 100 unpredictable possibilities are probably in play.Another site is reporting Montgomery remains a high priority for UK in 2025...how doe this factor in with Boley...I thought he was a 25? Coen will be here for a while. He is in his mid 30s, so he is still developing the foundation of his coaching career. He has a great contract that will push his net worth close to $5 million at this young age if he plays his cards right while he is building his brand. He has plenty of time, and the experience of last year in LA will temper the perceived invulnerability that young virtuoso talents sometimes feel. I think Coen learned more from Sean McVay than xs and os. To draw Boley's or Montgomery's interest, Coen will need to articulate a commitment to their development at UK. Coen surely will get that.Ya I have as much faith in Coen as I’ve had in any UK OC, but I’d be lying if I said I thought he’d be here for long, short of Stoops stepping down and Coen getting the job in the next couple years. From my perspective the fact that he returned here speaks volumes. He will get/have a QB that has skills to suit his system(which is the current flavor of the NFL) that bodes well for us I think.Coen will be here for a while. Coen already said he will stay for longer this time.IMO it is in the best interest of his resume Coen stay here 2 or 3 yrs. Being 1 & done to somewhere yet again will not be good for his dependability.
We’ll see I hope you’re right. But you don’t need to be a successful OC in the SEC for the long term to get head coaching offers.Coen will be here for a while. I agree, unless he’s like Brad White and doesn’t want to be a head coach just yet (I doubt that) I could see him here for 2 seasons before someone with the right situation gambles on him for their head coach job.His Brand is built and if we keep him three years we will be very lucky

He has a young child. I think UK can keep him up until that child starts school. I think at that point he will want to start planting roots. Maybe it’s in Ky or the best offer at that point.Coen already said he will stay for longer this time.
Coen says he wants to be here for the long haul, so I don’t see him leaving for another OC job anytime soon. I think his next gig will be a head coaching job. That’s what we will be fighting off. Hope we can at least get 3-4 years out of him before that happens. Hopefully he’s picky about where he goes and doesn’t take the first mid-major head coaching gig that offers him. Would like to see him hold out for a P5 job like other high profile OC’s have before.I have zero doubts that as long as coen is here, he gets no worse than his second option. Remember Joe Brady? He was the guy who transformed LSU's offense into an unstoppable machine that won a NC. Red hot coaching prospect who moved on to the NFL where many felt it was a matter of time before he was a NFL HC or a return to college to take over a "name" program. What's happened instead is he's bounced around the NFL, had more than one job and has yet to repeat LSU success.Coen says he wants to be here for the long haul, so I don’t see him leaving for another OC job anytime soon. Most in the know believe he is reclassifying. He even went so far as to petition the nCAA to allow him to take official visits which 2025 recruits can't take until next year. He argued that he was actually a 2024 due to his academic standing and the NCAA agreed.Another site is reporting Montgomery remains a high priority for UK in 2025...how doe this factor in with Boley...I thought he was a 25? It was reported that Coen gave Stoops a promise of 3 years, since he broke his promise of 2 years last time, though he did have an Rams' OC caveat to the verbal agreement.Ya I have as much faith in Coen as I’ve had in any UK OC, but I’d be lying if I said I thought he’d be here for long, short of Stoops stepping down and Coen getting the job in the next couple years. I agree, and I doubt that either he or Brad White will be tempted by a move to a G5 program like Troy (and I am not dissing John Sumrall).I think his next gig will be a head coaching job. That’s what we will be fighting off.
Uuuh, I didn’t earn my degree in math, but if Coen gave Stoops a promise if 2 years in his first year, but shaved a year off, back then, and has now given Stoops a promise of 3 years in his second, “first” year, here, I think that means he’ll be here for 7 years. It was reported that Coen gave Stoops a promise of 3 years, since he broke his promise of 2 years last time, though he did have an Rams' OC caveat to the verbal agreement.
And then, again?!?!As another poster once pointed out, if Levis goes as high as most think,
Stoops got his assistants huge raises so hopefully that along with his recent NFL stint will keep him here for a 4-5 year period at least. Maybe after that he could be like Assistant HC or something depending on how long Stoops wants to coach. I think he’s only like 56 so I could see him going another decade easy though.Ya I have as much faith in Coen as I’ve had in any UK OC, but I’d be lying if I said I thought he’d be here for long, short of Stoops stepping down and Coen getting the job in the next couple years. I hope you're right, but I'll be happy if he's here for at least three years. If we get more than that, then icing on the proverbial cake.Uuuh, I didn’t earn my degree in math, but if Coen gave Stoops a promise if 2 years in his first year, but shaved a year off, back then, and has now given Stoops a promise of 3 years in his second, “first” year, here, I think that means he’ll be here for 7 years.
I did not remove my shoes whilst calculating!
I hope this isn't the case, but I posted earlier that this can ɓe used as a big indictment against Stoop's offensive philosophy. If you're boley would you go to a team that got three guys drafted top 12 (including one by a team that had two guys at that position)? Or a team that had a top 5 guy slide out of the first round?
Going to be a tough spin job by the staff to sell people on what happened here. The toe gives them the perfect out but I can't imagine that's the first time anyone heard the concerns. If so, he should fire his agent tonight

Are you a seer? His Brand is built and if we keep him three years we will be very lucky
There have been many misunderstandings and downright false statements about Stoops' offensive philosophy. Stoops' philosophy is to employ an OC he trusts who will develop UK's offense and offensive players. At this, he has not always been successful. We know this because of lack of continuity. But any OC can relocate to another job. I think Coen learned a lesson last year in the school of hard knocks, and will stay longer this time. He already said he will be in Lexington for a while, and anybody can see his new contract is sweet. Other coaches will try to use all of this against UK because that is what coaches do. No doubt coaches use Saban's age against him and Kiffin's happy feet against him too. That is the recruiting game. Young players are confident Mark Stoops will be at UK, but they can't be confident in that way about Saban, Kiffin, Sark, or Day. Young players pick a campus where they feel at home. Players feel UK offers a family atmosphere. Player after player says this very thing.I hope this isn't the case, but I posted earlier that this can ɓe used as a big indictment against Stoop's offensive philosophy.
Agree with everything you just posted. Knowing the Coen and Woody connection and how well they’ve been able to recruit the wr room as well as getting Leary here, I’m very optimistic about how they go about recruiting the hs qb position as well as helping recruit the offensive line etc. There have been many misunderstandings and downright false statements about Stoops' offensive philosophy. The piece I am looking for is how Coen will recruit. This remains an unknown. You would think Coen's NFL experience will attract quarterbacks. Coen is talking with big time high school quarterbacks. If Coen attracts Boley or Montgomery or even Saunders, then the thesis would be validated. If he misses on all three, that does not mean he can't recruit, but the optics would not be what we need. We are waiting to learn whether Coen's recruiting clout is what we hope.
I think Stoops goes at least another 5 seasons.I think Stoops will move on after a really successful 2023 season and Coen will become the next head coach.
