MLB tests out Time Saving Measures in AFL

They all look pretty reasonable to me.

But baseball games are still shorter than football games. Neither of which are overly efficient.
A baseball game has roughly 80 batters seeing 270 pitches. That is 1 batter every 2+ minutes, or three pitches every 2 minutes.
A football game has roughly 130 plays. That is a play every 1:20. Studies have shown there is < 15 minutes of action in a 3 hour football game.

I am in favor of all these changes, the one where the batter has to stay in the box is LOOOOONNNNNGGG overdue.

That being said, style of play is hard to overcome. I think I read that because of the huge rise in walks and especially Ks, there are a lot more pitches thrown per game now than 40 years ago. Seems like the Reds play a lot of games where nearly half of their outs are Ks, that alone takes up a lot of time. It has been about thirty years since the last MLB game was played where no one struck out.

This will kill the batters that feel like they need to readjust their batting gloves and helmet after every pitch. I hated watching them do that over and over again. When I played, one foot out after the pitch to check the sign from the coach. then right back in.
