There is another thread for the jokes. I thought this one is just to post about him.
For me, who was a 3rd baseman, Brooks Robinson was some sort of mythic player. I was too young to see him play, but you always heard he was the standard bearer at the position.
I remembered him at relatively early age - and he would have probably been 55. And for some reason I never thought of him growing older. So to hear he was 86 was somewhat surreal.
Anyway, it sucks he passed. But he was old and that’s life. Nobody said it was gonna be always be fun.
