Is it just me or was there not a lot of real meat in that intervie
There never is with anything he says.
Sucks that there is basically no media coverage for our baseball program outside of Derek Terry. I guess it hurts when the program has been historically below average and on a recent decline, but the lack of stories/insights out there is pretty sad compared to most other SEC teams.
Historically the worst in the conference by a significant margin. I’m with you. Not much there. Is it just me or was there not a lot of real meat in that interview?

Do you think that means there are still questions to answer? Can’t really say much if spots are still in the air.
Maybe Byars and Williams are throwing a wrench into everything?
He also mentioned defense last year being a top priority after the previous year.Hard to say. I think he is often lacking in details and I've been a bit critical of how he speaks about things compared to some other coaches. Like Lawson, for instance, seems like she has a really great knowledge of her players and their strengths and weaknesses. She'll discuss that and the team's strengths overall. That hasn't been Mingione’s style.
Last year he talked a bit more about plate approach and discipline and players grinding out ABs. Have not yet heard that type of speak from him. Don't know what that's a sign of, if anything.
He did mention Williams, and I'd expect he is throwing a wrench into things a bit. Might depend on how he feels stamina wise on how he's used. Don't know if he mentioned Byars at all, but I may have missed it.
