That was a complete facial!!!!
"UK is the perceived favorite for Bridges, who's ranked No. 7 in ESPN's 2016 rankings. 24/7 Sports' Jerry Meyer recently echoed those sentiments, telling Kentucky.com, "I just think he likes Kentucky. I think he's intrigued with Kentucky. I think getting that (scholarship) offer was a big deal to him. I sense that Kentucky has the edge right now."
Mr. Bridges Kentucky wants you!!
I've just got a good feeling he's ours.
Bridges is not a must. But he is a nice player, and all signs point to him at Kentucky. I think the class will be Fox, Monk, Bridges, Killeya-Jones, Wynyard, plus another big, and Calipari will sign Killeya-Jones, Wynyard, Bridges in November. For sure, Calipari wants to wrap up Monk. It's possible Monk signs with us in November, but he might wait until spring just to deflect blowback at home. Fox has said he will commit in December, and all signs are pointing to Kentucky. At some point, there will be 1 more big from a long list of possibilities. Simmons and Alkins are the wildcards. It's hard to tell if Simmons still has a committable offer, but I would guess yes because Simmons' dad says Calipari calls him almost every day. There is also circumstantial evidence that Calipari is still actively recruiting Alkins. If Simmons or Alkins publicly commits to Kentucky before November, that would probably effect Fox or Monk. But I think Calipari will snag Monk, and our class is really starting to take shape. He's a must get. The elite sf we have been missing for years.
If Bridges commits early, he will create a gravitational pull to UK for other recruits. Who would not want to play with that athlete? BBN Forever!
I agree with you. I disagree with the guy who thinks getting Bridges would tip other recruits toward Kentucky. Bridges is a nice player, and I want him, but most sources think there are about 20 players in the class who are better. It is rare for a commitment from 1 player to tip another player to your program. They are far more likely to have the opposite effect, as uncommitted players assess where playing time will be available for them. Of all the players who seem likely to gravitate toward Kentucky this year, I think you are right that Fox's commitment could have the biggest positive influence on other players' thinking. If you watched the Nike-Bahamas game yesterday, you saw the guy who needs to be our top priority recruit that we build our team around this year. DeAaron Fox is the type of unselfish PG and skilled passer that other great players are going to line up to play with. Giles can credit Fox for about half of the points he scored.
UK also needs to be all over PG Trevon Duval from the 2017 class. Duke has him in their sights, but he seems much more like a Cal PG, and you can tell from his quotes he really likes Cal/UK.
According to every major recruiting service Bridges is in contention for the top 10 in their rankings when they're updated. He's already top 10 in ESPN now. Bossi stated he had the best summer of any player in the class. Maybe it's your opinion there's 20 players better, but it's certainly not scouts' opinions. I personally only think there's 5 or 6 better players in the class. IMO, Bridges is the next Justise Winslow.I agree with you. LOL! I don't rank high school basketball players, neither do you. So I don't have an opinion how many players are better. I want Bridges at Kentucky, so I have nothing negative to say. I only said a commitment from Bridges is not likely to cause a stampede. With all due respect, Rivals currently ranks Bridges #24. 247 ranks Bridges #16. These are facts, not my opinions. Guessing where he will be ranked in updated rankings is meaningless speculation. Every year, fans fall in love with this player or that player. Bridges might be the next Justice Winslow. Or not. Winslow is a lottery pick, so that's a high bar. I will just say this. If Bridges signs with Kentucky, I hope you are right. What you personally think about other players in the class doesn't interest me unless you have watched all of them play. I haven't, so I take everything with a grain of salt. If Calipari wants him, that means more to me than anything I read here or anywhere else on the internet.According to every major recruiting service Bridges is in contention for the top 10 in their rankings when they're updated. Most have him low 20's because they're waiting until after the summer circuit to update the rankings. It is generally agreed that Bridges has had a really nasty summer and I think he will be top 10 on most lists by the time the next year starts.LOL! You're not alone. I think he's better than Tatum as well. Tatum has always been more skilled but Bridges has improved in those areas significantly this summer. He actually shot the 3 ball a lot better than Tatum did this summer. Bridges has always been a superior athlete and stronger than Tatum.I'm new to this forum but read it daily. I might catch some heat for this but I think Bridges is the best SF in this class and that includes Tatum. JMO.
Bridges seems to really rebound well from the 3 position, looking at some of his game stats. That and his power game mixed with his ability to hit the outside jumper is what separates him from any other 3 in the class IMO. He can also slide to the 4. As mentioned above, his game is a lot like Winslow's. I think we end up with this kid. He wants to get to the NBA. He will get there sooner at UK than at MSU. It's a two horse race with UK and MSU. I also think we get Fox and Monk. I highly doubt with all the shenanigans going on at Arkansas he will actually attend school there. He could also elect to go to a non SEC school so he wouldn't have to face the hometown school in conference play. Time will tell.
Giles under Coach Cal would be a top 5 player by seasons end imho. Giles needs UK and UK needs Giles just hope Giles sees that also.
