He had a sequence of 3 plays in a row when he missed the calls. We are up by 1 , Amari get foul in the paint no call…. Vandy guard travels no call he is able to trow the ball in a corner Vandy makes 3 . Next play Amari and butler lost the ball, Vandy misses the shot , Amari goes up for rebound gets pushed in the back airborne, falls on the ground , Vandy player that fauls him gets the offensive rebound and scores 2 points. Rest is history Game is over…….

Not to excuse our lack of performance and reaction from the coaching staff but the truth is Mike Nance who is a very seasoned official had a terrible sequence that interfered with the final result . Not to bash on him , he had Kentucky on many games where he did a great job . Tonight was not one of them .

Fairly called game. They missed some both ways. It was not the debacle that Athens and Clemson were.

We refused to hit free throws, defend the three, take care of the ball, or apply decent pressure on defense. Deserved loss.

But I'll take the whistle we got today every game.

Turned the ball over twice late killed us. I had no problem with officiating today.

People are saying this is how they want games to be called and I agree, but you're absolutely correct. Amari gets blatantly drug down to the ground. You gotta call that. Vandy guard took 4 steps while boggling the ball that we didn't touch. You gotta call that. Amari went up for the rebound and was literally shoved in the back, blatantly and the shover got the ball and scored.

People are saying well we turned it over twice. Well we wouldn't have been in that situation if the calls were made. I loved how the officials let the teams play. We got away with some things, but again, nothing as BLATANT as those missed calls or at those absolutely pivotal parts of the games. I literally can't watch college basketball outside of Kentucky and huge SEC games because the officiating is so broken. It's a terrible product and no wonder it tanks like 7th of sports Americans keep up with. I'm gonna try and find the poll that shows it. It was posted here once.

Yeah, but I would rather they miss a couple calls than call touch fouls on all our players like they did to us in the Georgia game.

How about they meet in the middle and actually call a game according to the rules.

If it has to be either/or then I’d agree with letting things go but that’s not how the game is supposed to be played or called.

The whole first half they missed a ton of moving screens by Vandy. That is why they were shooting open threes. In the second half they stopped doing it for some reason and therefor we made the comeback. Im not saying we lost because of that but it contributed to it a lot.

The refs let them play yesterday. I saw Williams take some brutal shots, especially by Cary. Total fouls were 10 on UK and 9 on Vandy. Sitting courtside, I could count more than double that amount on both teams. Oweh carried us . He looked great during his time on the floor. Butler looked frustrated. He could not get around his man and he had a great deal of trouble getting a shot off. Vanderbilt is a very well coached team. They certainly do not have the overall talent that UT and UK have but they play great together, especially at home.

I would rather they call the game like they did yesterday, then call every touch foul and end up with our guys in foul trouble all game long, because, lets face it, this team fouls a lot.

But if Butler was frustrated yesterday, he might as well not even play Tuesday night. Tennessee might be the most intense and physical defense he will see all season, unless we play Houston at some point.

In an otherwise fairly officiated game, all it takes is a single call (or just 2) and it can be the difference between winning or losing. There is no excuse for the calls that are blatantly egregious. None whatsoever.

I'm sure we all can remember those kinds of games. There;s been plenty. But overall, we got a decently officiated game yesterday, at least they didn't shoot 50 free throw attempts to our 7. When it's like that, forget a win.

I like Pope's assessment, in that we're not far away. I agree. We can beat the best teams, we can also lose to teams that maybe we shouldn't lose to.

Just get healthy, somehow, someway. They've been battered enough to realize they need to understand how to play physical and play through the contact, stay mentally tough, and the need to execute is crucial. All lessons every good Kentucky team needs to learn for success.

Keep the faith.

Go Big Blue !
