Michigan State vs. Providence (ESPN 2)

Ouch. Bad breaks for Providence the last minute. Three point shot was just after the shot clock, MSU hits a three on the other end, Dunn misses the front end of a one and one and then Harris' layup rolls around the rim and in. Big shot for Dunn to keep Providence close.

Good game. Credit to Michigan State for winning that game down the stretch from a game Providence team.

Wow. Anyone see Valentine throw the ball at a Providence player right after the game ended? Kind of a weak move move.

MSU is a good example of why it's a bad idea to make hasty posts. Someone started a thread early in the MSU/KU game saying how much they sucked because at the time they were losing. They won that game and are standing at 7-0 with a POTY candidate.

I still don't think they are that great that was a unranked providence team that should have lost at home to Illinois. They are good but don't have near the ceiling as UK who has 2 surefire top 5 draft picks.

Unranked Providence team....so what..just because a team doesnt have a number by there name doesnt mean that they arent any good. You watched the game...both good teams

A lot of times NBA ceiling doesn't mean the best college team... Michigan state may not have the greatest NBA roster, but they have one incredible college player, a great coach, a solid team that plays together etc. Providence is clearly not an unranked team. will be top 20 tomorrow at least and beat number 11 Arizona. if you can find me 20 teams better than providence I'd give you a huge thumbs up lol

Correct. What matters is how good your team will be by March - not how good they would be if you could keep them together for 5-7 years. They are not always the same.

CARDS are also a good team...i know they havent played much but they have destroyed everyone they have played

exactly, and there's so many other factors that play into winning. I've been on some of crazy talented teams that didn't win because there's only one ball and egos, playing styles all those have an impact. it's rare that you can find super talented guys that actually can play well together- Cal has mastered this. But, there's teams with less talent who just know how to play, are scrappy, play together, can shoot etc that end up beating those extremely talented teams because of those reasons.
