Win 1st CWS game when 4 weeks ago it looked like they wouldn't even make the field.

I bet Michigan fans are glad they didn't fire Bakich after three seasons. His record was worse than NMs with a much lower strength of schedule. I'm sure Vandy fans are glad Tim Corbin didn't get fired after 3 seasons, with a slightly better record than NMs. I'm sure Georgia fans are glad that Scott Stricklin is still around after starting out with 4 straight losing seasons. And NMs record compares favorably to Chris Lemonis' first 3 seasons at Indiana.

As a UK football fan, I'm sure glad Mitch gave Brooks and Stoops a chance to build things the way they wanted to.

I know many don't want to see these records and will find a way around them to support their agenda that Baseball needs to clean house. So be it.

I'm definitely one !! Good #s and we'll see how it turns out, but tell me which one of those guys had 13 players drafted and didn't make ncaa tournament? Also, please give me something to be enthusiastic about for our future outside of having one of the best facilities in America.

I'm not trying to make anyone enthusiastic about the future. That's up to each individual. I just put out a few numbers that show some programs that stuck with coaches that had worse or similar numbers as UKs.

I believe in our staff and players and think there will be big improvement next year. Most of our returning lineup now have a year of experience. The pitching staff is still a big concern. But I'm not going to say that after another year of development they can't get SEC hitters out. Everything remains to be seen.

Many in the industry think the 2018 team should have made the tournament. And if they had, with Lewis and Thompson healthy again, who's to say they couldn't have made a run like Auburn did this year.

I'm just not ready to give up on our current team. If we're having this same conversation next Summer, I may change my mind.

To be fair, most those programs were pretty terrible before the coach you listed took over there. Vandy had only been to the NCAA tournament 3 times in their history before Corbin.

Lemonis wasn't all that special at Indiana. Finished no better than 3rd in the Big 10 and usually finished 5th or 6th.

Michigan had won 22 and 17 games the two years prior to Bakich coming there.
