That tells you how much a coach influences a decision (or at least the allure of Coach Brohm)...prior to the change, I don't recall Gilbert ever mentioning UL...
Of course it can, but the UL board would have you believe Jeff Brohm is some high dollar name...
I'm 34, and the majority of people my age don't give a flying **** about Jeff Brohm or any other Brohm... That dude was drafted about the same time I was born.
There is no allure around the name outside of UL message boards.
I am almost positive that Carter was not a take for us.
My son goes to St. X and Carter has a looooong way to go before he will be contributing.

IMO the staff evaluated Carter and Harkness as not having the athleticism necessary to play SEC D line

I don't post on the UofL Rivals board, so I am not sure how they operate. I post on Inside The Ville. I would not agree with the banning of any poster who engages in friendly interaction.
Reminds me of a story from many years ago. My best friend and his family are all UK fans. I was home on leave from the USN and he invited me to a family game watching party. I was welcome to wear my UofL gear. What started off as friendly banter with his teenage nephews got a little heated before halftime. I went to the restroom and when I returned there were no more disparaging comments. Later, I asked him what happened. He said his brother told the teens that if they didn't knock it off that he would allow me to kick their ass......and he would help me do it.

Besides we already have 1 defensive lineman in this #50 recruiting class. Don't need any more than that.
Carter is definitely going to end up as a DT. So he probably needs to get 290 before he will be effective. He has the frame for it but really needs to add to his base/legs.
I think in 3 years he can be a pretty good player in the middle. Nothing wrong with him as a player and is a good pickup for UL.

I have to wonder if you’re trying to maybe tell a little flib to seem cool or something? Ha. Anyway, back to the the real world. Lol. Just messing with you bud.
Hope you guys made a great hire with Jeff and he can turn the program into a success. Not against us of course but it wouldn’t bother me at all to see you guys become a top 25 program year in and year out as long as we stay few steps ahead. Best of luck with signing day and next season.

I didn't say I could or would kick anyone's ass. When I was out of the room my friend's brother, who was the father of some of the teens, is the one who told them he would let me kick their ass.....and he would help me do it. It was his way of telling them to knock it off.
The point of the story is that sometimes the adult has to step in and straighten the kids out when they are out of line.
Going by memory. I believe he was a 4 star and was injured last year and UK backed off. Then I think he was lowered to a 3 star. The kid has good size but I think we decided to go in a different direction.
ACC is probably the right level of football for this kid. Has nice size on film, but lacks any real burst or lateral quickness. Adding weight and moving to DT seems like the right move. Will definitely have to learn the position and how to play with leverage, because now all he seems to do is stand straight up and run forward.
"University of Purdue"???? This guy obviously didn't know much about the school that he had previously "committed" to.
