ACC must be proud. BTW Tommy Tubberville is an under-rated coach.

Make Miami stay away from our coach and other than that they can suck eggs.

Miami has to play FSU, Clemson, and VA Tech all this month as well I think. Hard to see the Canes winning any of those except VA Tech perhaps. Golden is done and Miami's decade+ of shocking fall from power continues. That school recruits itself...no reason it should not do well in the ACC some years.

Looks like the ACC has two very good football programs, other than that looks like the old Big East was as good as most of their teams.

Unfortunately for Louisville, they are in the same division as both those teams. UL a five point underdog to NCS? Looks like a lot of our fans were right, UK is trending up while they are trending down. Still a dangerous game for us this year though, a lot on the line, but then I am still worried about Vandy and their new defensive coordinator.

If UC can do one thing right, it is hire coaches, they always find a good one.

As for Miami, didn't they used to be good? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

They suck. That is all.

That was said at this same time last year, we will find out Nov 28th who's trending where.

I am still very surprised that Miami has been mired in mediocrity for as long as it has. Shannon and Golden were both guys I thought could be successful there. I understand the distractions, pro town, small school with little support, etc. But, they shouldn't have to do a whole lot more than control the area within 50 miles of Miami to have 8+ wins a year. Do better than that and they could easily be a top ACC team and go to BCS bowls pretty consistently. Not sure what the answer is but they are not very good right now, even after pretty good recruiting classes that Golden has brought in. Their defense, always a strong point for the team, is just plain bad. Not sure why they can't seem to recruit a good D down there any more but they haven't been better than average in quite a while.

Petrino would be a disaster down there. His MO is to coach up the players he inherits but recruiting suffers under him. He'd make the U better for a year or two and then they'd slowly sink back even lower than when he arrived. Really a good game day and prep coach. Not impressed at all at his ability to recruit and sustain success at a school for any length of time.

UC is a very attractive school for good coaches. UC is sitting on a pile of local recruits, many that are 2 star kids that simply have been lost in the shuffle and once they get to college are able to blossom with college coaching and great training facilities. In addition the expectations at UC are not intense, a coach knows he is going to get a reasonable amount of time to win. UC has historically had a ton of walkons and lower rated recruits that blossom into solid contributors and starters for their program.

I was at the game last night and the atmosphere was electric. It might not be the biggest stadium but because of how it is designed it is loud and has a unique presence to it. I wish the student section at UK Football was as loud and involved in the games as much as the UC student section.

In a lot of ways the UC football student section reminds me of the UK Basketball student section.

miami is about as politically correct of a university as there is out there. they aren't going after petrino or anyone with a similar record. they need a strict old school coach to develop talent. cause talent is not the problem.

Don't make Cincy into something their not. They have a nice enough team but are short on D. They're only 3-2 and looking at their schedule could very well have 5 more losses if their D doesn't step it up.

I was there last night as well. My 1st grader's football team got invited to go out on the field when UC ran out of the tunnel. Subsequently, I got to go onto the field as well - it was very cool. They have upgraded their stadium and the crowd was explosive. I am almost certain this was exacerbated by the selling of beer at their stadium!

Politically correct? Miami has been in the NCAA pokey on more than once occasion. Also, what is politically correct about wanting to avoid an ethically challenged, pathologically lying, sack of dung like Bobby Petrino?

Couldn't watch much of the game but did Berrios get in much? I remember how much we all wanted that kid to come here and be our Wes Welker.

Nippert is a great place to watch a game, not a bad seat in the house. I thought about going last night, but bad weather and fighting a cold kept me away.

Berrios has hardly played, 1 game with 1 catch for 7 yds. Could be hurt but didn't find out anything to indicate he was.

It's not the lying. Sleeping with a girl who is your subordinate that you gave the job to even though she's not qualified for the job is the kind of thing that certain schools will frown upon more than Shannon arranging payments to players or hurt paying for abortions and prostitutes.

Understand he went to Miami because his Dad lives there and was a lifelong Miami fan, but he made a bad football decision going there. KY would have been a better fit, but I am not sure he would be doing much here either with the level of talent that is getting the most playing time now.

Actually if you weren't a big name in sports wouldn't you be prosecuted for misuse of public funds? And while I don't know how legal abortion is in Kentucky shouldn't it be against the law to sweet talk someone into having one and then arrange and pay for it?

The dumb woman could have been living high on the hog until the kid was 18 or probably 21 instead of wasting away in prison. But they don't call him slick rick for nothing.

Alas, Ricky Jr, we never knew you, money got in the way..

The part about Petrino hiring a girl who he was banging for a job in the athletic dept. (and the fiance of a fellow athletic dept employee) is where the "ethically challenged" part comes in. The sack of dung part just comes naturally to him.

Heard his named called last night & saw his jersey out there, but how much,????

Yes, good place to watch a game. Really neat cozy setting in the middle of campus - gates are open during day & students walk thru concourses to classes.

Hard to have bad seats when it only holds 40-41K. Record crowd last night.

THE PROBLEM is parking & getting to the place. Major traffic jams on I-71 last night.

True that, plus almost zero area to tailgate in, given the location right in the middle of campus. As you know, I would LOVE to play UC up there, ten times more fun than EKU, Charlotte, et al. Instead, we have signed up for a really wonderful trip to Hattiesburg Mississippi in a few years, plus maybe a trip to Eastern Michigan??

[Memo to all other posters, yes I know we are in the SEC, our schedule is tough enough as is, blah blah blah, don't need to repeat it again]
