I have not had the opportunity to research game films (as of yet) of our top two QB for 16. I know some of you have combed through the highlight tapes and I would like to hear the differences/comparisons.

Arm strength on long outs/curls, reading of schemes, what type of scheme they play in HS, etc. Also is there are other QB on our radar in 16...lite them up too!

Thanks in advance !!!!! GO CATS!!!!!

i think the real difference is the accuracy of kendall. he can drop it in a basket or through a tight window. deweaver probably has a little stronger arm (not certain about that but just going off video) and is a quicker guy. i'd take kendall over deweaver just because of the accuracy though. it seems people always talk about "improving" accuracy but it really looks like something you either have, or dont.

In the type of offense Dawson runs accuracy is at a premium therefore Kendall may be a little better fit, but I know the staff would love to have either one or both.

Kendall by a mile. Stronger arm and more accurate. Kid is for real.

UK would do well to get either but they aren't the only 2 UK's evaluating at this time.

Absolutely, can't chose 1 or the other, want both!

do we have any names? I sort of heard this but have no names to go check out when I check Deweaver and Kendall out on game films - Thanks

247 has a list of prospects including QBs.

Kendall, DeWeaver, Oden, Gaines, Haskins.

I have a feeling DeWeaver ends up Mich St. One thing I hope is a quick decision from Kendall so we can move on if necessary.

From reading one of the other sites sounds like he is going to stay with the Vols until spring practice, wants to take in one and see how the qbs work. I understand about not being afraid of competition, but Vols are still recruiting qbs for the 16 class, But I don't think the Vols are real sure he stays with them, but going to for a little while longer it looks like.

Austin Kendall throws with more anticipation, that's what is setting the two QB's a part the most. I fully expect Austin Kendall to flip to UK, I don't think UK gets Messiah deWeaver, I think he goes to Mich State. There is a reason why they've been recruiting him harder than UK.

Kendall is priority #1 for the staff. He's a little more polished as a prospect than Messiah. Though keep in mind that whichever QB we bring in that we "hope" that they won't have to play for 2-3 yrs down the road.......at least.

Longer this goes the less likely Kendall flips. deWeaver is almost certainly headed to Mich St.

I don't know, he can't be happy with all the qbs UT has signed and still recruiting them for 16. Of course at least 1 of the 15 qbs is likely gone by Christmas and another has a change of positions. Jones is some used car salesman

I agree Grump. I don't know if the length of time messes with Kendall's chance of flipping.......maybe, I guess....don't know. I do feel that having him on board to help headline the '16 class would help recruiting other players.....so, I feel coming on board early would be a plus.

That being said, can't blame him (or any other recruit) for being cautious. We all love how this team, staff, program, etc is trending, but in the end Stoops has yet to register a winning season. A measure of caution is understood and expected.

Kendall is a good qb prospect, UGA was in contact early on and word was he would have committed if we offered but UGA was all in on Jacob Eason and once he committed last summer our qb recruiting was done in the class. If Eason had gone somewhere else I think Kendall was Richt's guy. Surprised me when he committed to UT, but the reality is they don't have a passer, Dobbs passing is low average, its his ability to make plays with his feet that makes him dangerous and neither of the qbs they signed last year were great passer's either, Kendall would likely be the best passer on their team if he was there today. But the number they signed and are still recruiting the position for 16 would be cause for concern I would think. Personally I would give his brother a scholarship if it would get Austin to UK, he is already there and won't count against the recruiting class, just the 85 number. UGA gave Terry Godwin's sister a BB scholarship last summer after she finished her JUCO career and a few years back Alec Ogletree's twin a scholarship. Now the twin did play some FB and was a special teams standout so it wasn't a complete waste. But you got to do what you got to do to sweeten the pot and be within the rules.

Yeah, Jones has run off at least 12 since the end of the season. I've been amazed at how lightly reported that's been.
