(c)atlanta is the more affordable deal. the problem with austin is that it is equally expensive to hollywood. hollywood sucks as an institution however -- a legal cartel if you ask me.Movies have been getting made in and around places like Austin, Wilmington, and Atlanta for decades. The idea that films were *only* made in CA is long, long gone. It's why you don't see "Filmed in Hollywood, U.S.A." at the end of credits anymore.

Yep. Toronto is a major hub for films. And apparently Hawke loves Kentucky. Bloom was filming something here a few years ago and Katy Perry followed with their daughter. Months later she raved about her time here and talked about the idea of staying. You'll still have directors like Tarantino who adore LA so they'll likely shoot there most of the time but I love the move by McConaughey. Everything they'd need is likely in Texas anyway and some of the best movies ever made have that classic Texas backdrop.A lot of shows and movies film in Canada as well. And there have been several filmed in Kentucky recently. Not huge names but Ethan Hawke, Dustin Hoffman, Orlando Bloom, and Bill Skarsgard have been filming around Louisville the last several years
