I found it! Congrats kycatfan! The only black hole he's seeing is the one at the basket. (Btw I know there's ano joke inside that lol)

The guy is awesome and has played great all year. Look at Steph Curry, Hield, Durant, etc, etc all great shooters/scorers--none of them play D.
Cal needs to let him take over and get off his ass all the time--ride his hot hand in March.

Played great... but there's also no denying that he has had HUGE defensive lapses in the last 2 games in very crucial times. And without them, we are in good shape to probably win both.

Why can't people on here be even kieled..

We lose a few early, and we're headed to NIT..

We win 3 in a row against average teams and people were saying we wouldn't lose again..

It is possible to talk about player weaknesses without saying they suck and also about there strengths without anointing them player of the year..

..just like it is possible to be happy about this win without saying were championship bound.

Yeah but without Murray's points, you're not even in the game with a chance to win. Just shut up and recognize greatness which is jamal freaking murray.

Has 2 of the 3 highest Fr. Scoring gms. In UK history but yeah he's a liability ....
:flush:

Dude is going to end up breaking Knight's all time Fr. Single season scoring mark at Ky(cracked the top 16 today, passed Anderson, Teague, Towns, Bogans, Patterson and Bledsoe...those are big time players)and will be a top 5 pick in the draft.

Enjoy him for what he is...a freaking scoring machine who along with Ulis can get UK to the FF.

Lol. All 3 of the guys you listed are way above average defensively.

I see you failed to read the whole post.. like a typical raftard

And I wasn't in a position to win the game.. as I was sitting on the couch watching it. But good one.

Way to bring up a dead topic to bash someone. I even came back after his next game and gave him praise for his play. His stats weren't as good, but he played better in my opinion. Since the game I criticized him, he has been playing much better for the most part. His defense is still way behind, but his offense has been much better. So should I search through all your old posts and find something I don't agree with and bash you now? I am sure I could find some good ones.

Sounds like many of you don't understand what it means to play team basketball and consistently win. There are reasons we have lost so many games this year...One of them is Murry's D, another is Briscoe's inability to score and hit free throws...another is a lack of a dominant big man. If Murray wants to play in the NBA, he needs to learn to stay with his man, period! That is also necessary for making a deep NCAA run!

I'm glad you're ready to get on your knees for Jamal but it's one game. I'd rather have a consistent player with good games every night than one who gets torched and is a big reason for 2 losses and then has an awesome game.
One game, huh?

Jamal Murray - 17.5 ppg (41.8% fg), 4.9 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.2 spg
Malik Newman - 13.2 ppg (40.8% fg), 3 rpg, 2.2 apg, .5 spg

It would be great to have a mini Zaytoven in your pocket - it would come in handy in certain circumstances.

Say you're taking a test, and there's a T/F section. Since he's wrong about basically everything, just answer the opposite of what he recommends, and you're golden.

In the long, (not-so-) proud tradition of mind-blowing idiocy on this board, the volume and persistence of Jamal Murray criticism ranks near the top.

Lots of Cal's freshmen perimeter guys have had major issues with the level of switching he expects on defense. Some of them have shown far less effort on D than Murray. And none of them have put up over 18ppg, especially on a team with basically 0 interior offense.

Not too mention that the D we face is designed to slow down Murray and Ulis. Nobody else on the team is consistent in relieving the burden.
Some of you guys cast blame around like it is solely's Murray's fault on some games we lost. I clearly remember many others even Ulis having abismal shooting nights.
It's very rare for out bigs to do anything in the game. We have to have our guards and small forward (Willis) pick up the slack for toughness and rebounding not to mention scoring because of our bigs.
Murray's D is not that bad compared to the other freshmen we have had. Wall could be horrendous at times on D, the last game he played for us he was terrible. Worse than what I've seen Murray do. But hey that's what freshmen do.

You're FOS if you don't think Newman would have better stats than Murray if they switched teams.

Malik also had a terrible start to the season. Plus Newman shoots 41% from 3 while Murray shoots 39%. While its not huge, with the large amount of 3's they've taken its kind of a big margin.

To answer your question: Realistic and logical are two adjectives that are in short supply in describing a lot of posters on Dafters, er...Rafters. :sunglasses:

Newman should be putting up 30 a game at state. . Who else scores there

I'm not the one on my knees. Malik Newman has given you rug burns. .

My reply is, nobody said he could not score, he just can't stop anybody either. On nights when he is not shooting great that is a liability.

We have plenty of liabilities to go around on this team. Murray's is peanuts compared to what else he does. opponents fear him. As for his "off" nights, he was off in the first half against OSU, but if he hadn't kept after it and caught fire in the second half, we lose by 30.
I love watching him and Tyler feed off each other. Keep shooting Jamal.

You do realize that someone else would have taken some of the shots that Murray did?

Yes, of course Newman made a poor choice by not going to UK, but you're the one who said "one game", and I demonstrated a clearly recognizable pattern in response.

And if you want to get down to the pedantic details, Murray is actually up at 18.3 ppg now, and I hadn't felt it crucial to mention that he also has twice as many blocks and is better at shooting free throws by a wide margin, which is crucial on this roster of ft mediocrity.

Yes, we've seen everybody else clunk shots, believe me. If it's not Tyler, Jamal, a briscoe layup, a dunk from Lee or poy, or a 17 for jumper from Skal, it is almost guaranteed not to go in. Our offensive options are not incredibly vast.

Shaq could've been a really good player but he couldn't hit his free throws.
