I know I'm probably reaching here a bit, but it might just help him mentally. I know this kid has a world of potential and is doing everything Coach is telling/teaching him, but up to this point he is struggling.... GO CATS!

Not sure any amount of coaching can make a guy 6'11" grab ONE rebound in 13 minutes of play. You either want the ball, or you don't. Rebounding is attitude and hustle. I think Skal will come around, but so far, he has digressed more than anything else.

Did he come off the bench to start the 2nd half? I believe so. I do think he needs to be benched. Start Lee, Poy, and he 3 guards. Willis first off bench.

He could be the worst player in the history of UK basketball and Cal is still going to play him. Thats his promise to the NBA aspiring one and dones.

The stat that bothers me and I'm sure bothers cal the most.

Zero rebounds, 5 fouls. AFTER a weak performance.

That's inexcusable. There's no way you can continue to start him and play him 2/3s of the game in SEC play. The whistles on the road alone will eat him up.

Cal better get moving on Skal and get this kid understanding some things.

Yeah, he did. I agree he should come off the bench, maybe will take some pressure off him.

The problem with UK's bench is you have almost ZERO guards coming off it. I like a bench of Willis, Skal, and Matthews a lot...but dang, if Willis is not hitting we have almost nothing outside the paint with that bunch. Of course that is still a problem if Lee of Poy is coming off the bench as well, so idk what to do there. It sucks Mulder is not good enough to play almost ANY minutes as he hustled yesterday and got two offensive boards.

^Comes to a message board to tell people not to talk about the subject matter that the message board was created for.

Logic.
I think what he means is the over analyzing of the situation has gotten silly though I do agree coming off the bench might do him good . But we have Einstein's comparing him to Harrow and crap like that . I , at least IMO , think that is what he meant . What is funny is in a month when Skal has one of his 25 pts 10 reb 5 block games we all will be singing his praises and the same person who called him Harrow 2.0 will say he is better AD.

The last part is right. The first part is just you trying to fuel your agenda. Skal wouldn't be here if he was the worst player in history.
Skal isn't like the typical big man that grew up playing in the states. It's going to take a little more time for him...and apparently fans like you to get that.

We all want to see Skal have a monster game like that. But honestly, hoping to get something like that out of him isn't a whole lot more than wishful thinking at this point. He simply hasn't shown himself capable of having a performance like that against any decent level of competition.

Skal doesn't have to put up monster numbers to satisfy me. What he does have to do is give effort, seem to care, and stop playing like a 5'11" high school kid. He gave zero effort yesterday, and I'm not just talking aboutbhiscstat line. He didn't even attempt to rebound or go after the ball. No effort. I'm not giving that a pass or blaming it on youth. Briscoe is the same age with the same experience, yet he gives full effort. At some point Skal is going to have to realize it's not going to be given to him and that he has to go get it.

I agree with everything you said except that Briscoe and Skal have the same experience

Maybe hire Dennis Rodman to spend some time with him - get him some tattoos and a little "bad-ass" to his game.

CUT-NETS will never get it as long as Cal is here.

I'd bring Skal off the bench for a while and tell him to just focus on defense and rebounding on both ends of the floor. The offense will take care of itself once he starts doing those two things.

Unfortunately, you're the worst poster in the history of UK Basketball yet you still get to play. You're Jerry Tipton, aren't you?

Just because a guy has more/less likes does not translate to quality of posts. Some don't post as often. However you aren't the worst poster on here or of all time. There has been several to take that title.
