2017
Was that a prediction? Not too sure. Could be a number of players, would like more info on it though.
It's tadarrius Patterson no word yet however coaches may hold off he is 2017 and it's early and we don't do kids like other schools.
Tardarrius Patterson's offer sheet includes Alcorn State, Prairie View A&M, Alabama St., Army. If he has an offer from Kentucky, it is his only major conference offer. Our coaches are known for picking out talent before other programs get on them. But Patterson plays for Carver High School in Birmingham, so not unknown. He sounds like a reach. Given the way our 2017 class has started, I can't see Stoops taking this commitment.
Also, don't forget '17 is likely going to be a small class as UK only has 13 juniors on the roster.
Right now, it looks that way. But to take the devils advocate position, this time last year I didn't think Stoops would be able to take more than 20-22 players in his 2016 class. But now, with Krok, Richardson, Gossier, Provitt gone and Livingston questionable, I think we take 25 in 2016. I expected attrition to slow down now that our roster is full of Stoops' players, but maybe not. I feel the 2017 class will be another major turning point for Stoops at Kentucky, like 2014 was, but better. Taking so many commitments this early might mean the class will be bigger than we think.

Doggone BD, I'm agreeing with you a lot today! Also, don't forget '17 is likely going to be a small class as UK only has 13 juniors on the roster.
Stoops needs more linebackers, but he has Jones and Brown on campus and some other good ones committed in 16. The bar for receiving a Kentucky scholarship offer is rising fast, and it will become higher in the next 6 months. The physical requirements for Kentucky's outside linebackers will also change with the transition to the 3-4. Patterson's offer sheet is Prairie View A&M, Alcorn St., Alabama State. He plays at 1 of the highest profile high school programs in Alabama. So he isn't an under the radar player, but he doesn't have a major conference offer. Maybe it is his size or his speed. Maybe his grades. Maybe something else. Stoops is as good it gets for finding talent before other programs get in on it. So if he accepts a commitment from Patterson, that's good enough for me. But when I look at the 2017 defensive players considering Kentucky, I wonder what could be the hurry. Any chance they could be looking at him as a safety? While I understand that, it's not like the kid isn't very talented. All-state outside linebacker in Alabama (a very talented football state in high school) as a sophomore in high school. You all need to consider, UK is his first major offer, but the kid, again, is just going into his junior year of high school. UK needs fast, aggressive, violent tacklers for OLB's. I'm all about getting this kid here.

patterson doesn't have the offers but he is violent on film. i'll assume that size and weight are the holdup as far as more offers cause he plays football like snedegar did here and i'll always take a guy like that on my team.

i think he gets flagged for 2 of the 3 first highlights and he would definitely need coaching up on tackling.

He isn't long enough to be a 3-4 outside linebacker. And I notice nothing is happening. This is another misread on your part, youngster.I doubt they would look at him as a Safety. Our safeties have terrific ball skills to go along with size. Honestly, the OLB spot is the spot for him. The kid runs a 4.6, and he's very athletic. Shows solid skill for such a young player as well. The only way he could be recruited as a Safety is if the staff feels incredibly confident with our CB's. We don't really have a smashmouth Safety so it would be refreshing, but I just don't see it.
