Lately, he gets BETTER UK Football info than ANYTHING to do with basketball. Matt is close to Marrow and Coach Stoops, so if he says something, it comes from very good sources!!

His UK Basketball info DRIED UP in 2021 when he just told the truth about how Cal had allowed the program to decline. Since then, he gets very little inside info about the basketball team.

So actually it's the OPPOSITE of your assessment.

I like Marrow but he is mostly just a hype machine. He talks a big game and is probably the best recruiter UK has ever had but that's not saying much. From what I've seen on the field the last two years we have been mostly overmatched talent-wise against anybody with a pulse. I know UL was a good win but let's be real, they would be a .500 or 7-5 team in the SEC. We really need to up our talent level somehow.

QB- Overrated Leary and a bunch of stiffs
RB- Davis and then a huge dropoff. McClain and Jefferson would not play much at other SEC schools and DSK is a better WR than RB
WR- We literally only played 4 guys this year so the talent behind those 4 has to be bad
TE- Decent talent and good depth but nothing overwhelming
OL- Decent talent in the interior but terrible coaching. OT is short on talent and depth.
DL- Nice talent and depth but don't get much production
LB- Nice starters but very little quality depth
CB- Hairston is a baller but the rest-barf
S- Needs a huge talent upgrade. Childress was terrible this year and rarely left the field.
PK- Raynor is a star
P- Berry was the worst P in the league

This might be one of the most inaccurate things ever posted. You couldn’t be more wrong. Matt has been completely ostracized by the basketball staff, but he is genuinely friends with Marrow and Stoops and they talk directly quite often. Horrible take.

Poorly worded on my part no doubt. What I mean is that I cringe when Matt talks UK football/college football, he's wrong so much and has little knowledge on UK football and it's history. I respect his basketball opinions, he's been a fan his whole life. And I do understand that he's closer to football staff nowadays, but he's still got a lot to learn about the sport.

He was probably told not to share a specific name because UK wanted it under the radar and the 247 reporter probably heard from player or IU source. I guess the timing could be coincidental too. Classic causation vs correlation dilemma

Love Vince but he hypes up like a WWE wrestler

As you mentioned…some is player development has taken a hit…but that Qb room amd Rb room is like the joker days or recruiting…woof!

Thr spot we’ve done best given it’s Ky is Dline (and that is the hardest) We are taking transfer that aren’t even playing as Vince is still enamored with high school rating or school they came from
