Kinda odd that TN Tech's HC is ex-Auburn asst and former Baylor coach for years, Steve Smith. You may recall I threw our Bragga's name for some capacity at UK a few months ago. The UK grad has been around the block a few times, mainly small school/mid-major but his teams could always hit.

Might be a # for MB to keep handy...pretty sure we'll need it come June 2022.I believe they led the nation in home runs the year they made supers. Also were high in other offensive categories.
Yeah, his last 5 years or so at Tech were pretty good so maybe he figured it out. Four time OVC COY so that's a plus. One thing about his teams, even ordinary Tech teams and back to Birmingham Southern, was they could hit. Hope it works out. Will be interesting to see how he does back there. Obviously had an amazing year, but he was there from like 2003 until just a few years ago before moving to Rice. Took him a really long time to put together some sort of a great team, so it makes you wonder if it was more of a flash in the pan, or is it something he can continue to replicate?

I think he'll settle in now, probably retire there.True, personally would much rather see him return as a hitting coach than a head coach, but not sure we'll get that wish regardless.

Strong UK connection at Tech now with Bragga plus Pelphrey as basketball coach.
Son is a grad, played there from '98-'03.Went there myself.
I remember in 2007 I was a student at Tech and they played baseball against UK at Cliff Hagan. I had listened to the game on ukahletics.com (only way to get it back the). I don't remember the score, but UK won the game. A few days later, I saw a baseball player in the grill/cafeteria and I asked him how good UK was. He was not amused at my question and promptly told me off. haha
I just looked it up... they played a 3 game weekend series against one another on February 23, 24 and 25, of 2007. Kentucky won all three 10-2; 6-4; and 10-3. What a fun time to look back on...
