Marshall will enter draft

We are gonna smoke Auburn in Lexington next season.

as a CB apparently...

played one at UGA...and have read where he is practicing and playing as one in the senior bowl...

If you're thinking we "smoke" Auburn next year you obviously didn't watch any of the games where Jeremy Johnson filled in for Nick Marshall. I know several Auburn fans who wanted to make a QB change last year. Johnson is just about as athletic and twice the passer Marshall ever thought about being. With a full offseason to figure out an offensive identity with him at QB, I'm sure Malzahn will have them hitting on all cylinders by the time they get to Lexington. We may get them, but it probably won't be because of their QB play, and definitely won't be a "smoking."

Their back up is a stud. Jeremy Johnson might not be as good a runner but he makes up for it with his arm. Gonna be a good one.

They won't see a drop off with Johnson.

I'm suprised to see Marshall as a NFL DB prospect, dude can fling it. The few games I've watched of Auburn he throws lasers and it gets out of his hands quick on the 10 yard outs/curls.

Just don't think Marshall has the body to run in the NFL. This season he was an inconsistent passer and made some questionable plays. No NFL teams run an offense like Auburn. Marshall will make it as a CB though, dudes too athletic. Got recruited to UGA as a db so I'm sure a team will take him.

Robb's trolling as per usual my friend. He does not really believe UK is going to smoke AU next season.

If we win, it will be a shootout. They will score a lot of points with Johnson at QB for sure. AU has all those tough road games at home next season in UGA, AL, Ole Miss and MSU. They do play at LSU, ARK and A&M though, with an improving UK in Stoop's 3rd year...so yeah...still pretty damn tough schedule! That said, I think they have potential to compete for the playoff next year. I'm trying to figure out what SEC team gets in, if any (gasp!), but having trouble right now. It will be interesting next season in the SEC for everyone.

Marshall was an elite HS qb, not because of his arm but because of his athletic ability. He played in single A ball in a small county, the last public HS to win a state championship until public and private schools were split, as a jr. It was pratically a given he was going to Tech to run Paul Johnson's option offense, we threw an offer at him but didn't recruit him hard and when he announced he picked UGA because he didn't want to play qb in college so he could also play BB. He came, played a little in the secondary his frosh year, broke into a teammates room and was caught in the room with the kid's money in his pocket, 3 guys were involved. He was given a break by the victim's family by them not pressing charges and dismissed from school, went JUCO and signed with AU as a qb. Richt has caught heat because he was a DB at UGA, but it was what the kid wanted to play at the time, he will have a tough time making it as a CB in the NFL, contact isn't his friend.
