Is U.K. recruiting this 7'1" center from Great Crossing HS?
I haven't noticed anything if we are.
Anyone seen him play?

Looking at his stats looks like he rebounds exceptionally well. Hard to tell on offense as they have two or three other good players. But a guy like this would be a nice recruit for us. He would be here a while and give the 5 position nice quality depth at the least.

Not surprising to see Purdue all in on this kid and many others in the area. Matt Painter has a big from Cincinnati already committed for next year, is recruiting EJ Walker the junior forward from Lloyd and the Kinney kid from Newport as a sophomore. Saw Painter at a Newport game 2 weeks ago.

From the brief clip, he looks a step slow but it's hard to tell. Maybe be a project but sometimes they work out.
I always remember Nazi Mohammad when I see a kid like this. Naz was not particularly fast or a super athlete but he had great touch around the basket. Excellent rebounder.

Glad we are looking into him.

It’s ok to stay at a school like Purdue for 6 years but you sniff a second year at UK and people are gettin antsy…the fan base drives most of that. The most recent example Jordan Burks.
No, Calipari drives that. Most of the complaints I see from fellow fans is that Calipari pushes guys to the NBA when they're not necessarily ready for the NBA, and could be a great addition to the program the following year. Calipari has created a culture where guys feel they're failures if they don't leave after the first year, and THEY are the ones who get antsy.

So Cal has 25 different user accounts on here already talking about Burks transferring after this season?
There are people that do that for sure. I think the vast majority of BBN would be fine with a big man needing 2-3 years ala Nick Richards to really become a great player. The problem is Cal having a class not filled out and need to rely on them or injuries causing them to play early. Then you have the culture saying they are a failure if they haven’t went pro after 2 whole years.

For the record I do agree Cal has built that environment. There is a vast number of “fans” however that take it to a different level and not in a positive way.

Agree! Many posters on this board were calling Nick Richards a complete failure and a recruiting bust after his first two years

Was candidate for SEC player of the year his 3rd year, and is still doing well at the next level.

I’m no Cal apologist, but people who blame Cal for how returning players are treated just need to scroll through some old posts.

Lower ranked recruits are mostly spared by the fans. (Thiero, Ugo, etc …). 5 star recruits and McD All-Americans tend to get ripped online if they don’t meet or exceed expectations.
