This quote puts it all in perspective for me:

Kentucky is not only about nba draft night, certainly that's not what our program should 'be about'.

In the first Public statement out of his mouth after all the recent up-roar, he admits he refuses to change. And states what his version of KY is and is about. It does feel like another jab at the fan base.

Someone will be in to say it’s only a recruiting spiel. Cal has never hid that it’s about getting players drafted, it worked well in the early part. But now it’s a monster that even he can’t contain and it’s the reason we are in this current mess. Anyone actually expecting him to change is going be disappointed.
