Lynn Bowden to

I remember another not that well known WR that went from the Dolphins to the Patriots and became one of the best WR's in the NFL: Wes Welker.

Let's hope Lynn gets a shot at showing his full potential for the Pats!!!
I get the Wes Welker comparison....the problem is Bowden's hands are not really top notch but most of these slot WR guys we try to compare Bowden to are elite hand guys....Lynn is not that type of WR with the hands.

It’s practice squad for now. Let’s see if he’s bumped up to the real roster

You're right, his hands are average and he lacks top end speed BUT he's very elusive, great instincts, follows his blockers very well, very smart runner. His play the last two-thirds of the '19 season was one of if not the best performances I've seen in my 60+ years of being a UK fan. Hope he can hang on but if he doesn't it won't diminish his UK career.

I always saw him as a James White type vs. Welker. He was very average as a receiver at UK, unworldly as a running QB.
With BB, he’s got a chance to develop into just that.

Bowden is basically a poor man’s Randall Cobb. Similar speed and elusiveness (and Lynn is a little stronger runner I’d say) but he is not in Cobb’s league when it comes to route running and hands.

He really needed our QBs to not get hurt in 2019. He was on track for 80 catches or so. Then he needed to come back and do it again in 2020. Nearly two seasons of missing out on honing his WR skills hurt him.

Not sure how his pay will work out if he makes the roster. GENERALLY its pay based on the league min salary (750 k divided by 18 times games played?????)
But he was due to make over a mill with the 'phins if he had made the team....

Soooooo...first step, make a team and then let the agent work it out.

Prove he can catch the ball consistently first.
