His abilities are pro-ready. Fortunately, I don't think they have what it takes to win when the competition gets tougher. I could be totally wrong about this . . . but I don't think he's going to be able to lift them very far without a decent supporting cast. Blakeney is athletic, but streaky at best.
yea if only uk had gotten Simmons. He is the king of this class. Dude gets rebounds like Kevin Love. He plays with a 120% motor at all times
Has he had monster games against good power 5 type teams or against smaller schools??

Went something like 21-20 against Marquette
He also played really well against NC State
While not great P5 teams, Marquette is a tournament team. NC State does suck however, but they still beat LSU
I know enough about LSU to say they are fraudulent.
Ben Simmons may be great but the team sucks and will get hammered at least twice by UK.

Guy will have monster games against P5 or any other teams he plays against. Best player in college basketball and it's not that close. He's the real deal .
Back when he committed to lsu he made the point of saying how he didn't want to play for a school like UK, wanted to start his own history.

Has he learned to shoot yet? He is a great passer and rebounder, but he will be limited by his lack of shooting against top competition, jmo.
They may be fraudulent, and we may hammer them at home. But I'd bet the house the game down there will be close, and very well could be a loss. You know when Kentucky comes to town, the team, the coaches and fans will all show....

I think they were down 36-17 to College of Charleston. So maybe making a really bad team only bad.
Ppl act like Simmons is a basketball God. He has enormous talent don't get me wrong but will he make the NCAAT this year at LSU? Right now I say no.
When I hear people compare him to Lebron James my ears bleed. Lebron could have took Akron to a Final Four lol

I think they have a pretty good supporting cast.. They were beating us without him. LSU is a good team, because they had some bad losses earlier in the season is now irrelevant. They now have two pretty good wins and I think their a dangerous team. They'll probably sweep us. unfortunately.
One would think an 18 pt defeat might behoove us to drop the trash talk.

Oh yeah. They've definitely improved around him. A rising tide lifts all ships . . . would have never have thought Quarterman would show up the way he did. But most guys have that once in a lifetime performance against us.

No problem here with people getting called out on their bs no matter how premature the bs was.
I wonder how much lsu pays Simmons per semester? The better question would be; why did he end up in the state of Louisiana and go to lsu?
Now that all of LSU's players are back, they are a tough team. If those two bigs had stayed they would have been FF caliber.
I feel if he had came to UK although he'd be good I don't think Cal would use him as a point forward like LSU is using him. He'd be playing with his back to the basket like Randle was. I may be wrong in thinking that. And we desperately need that. Just my opinion.
I do look for major payback at RUPP our last game of the regular season. Maybe we can catch them again in Nashville!
