LSU @ Kentucky - Game 1

7-2 in the top of the 7th. Had the bases loaded but two outs and thye got a ground out to end the threat.

LSU is on their 3rd pitcher with Poche only going 3, Peterson 2.1, and Reynolds 0.2 of an inning. Hjelle still going in the top of the 7th but over 100 pitches and giving up a lead-off walk. Just took him out and bringing in Pop.

Pop gives up a double to Freeman and LSU gets a run due to Hjelle's walk of Robertson. No outs. Need Pop's best now.

Pop then gets a ground-out that advanced Freeman to 3rd and Belanger pulls Pop for Zach Thompson.

Thomspon gives up a walk and is replaced by Machamer. Going through a lot of pitching this early in the series.

Double play ends the inning. Got out of that inning with only 1 run. That is a good deal but it took three out of the bullpen to do it.

I can recall the last time we played LSU at Cliff Hagan. There was one particular LSU fan who was extremely loud, rude, and totally obnoxious. Would love to him to be there and have to be quiet.

He's here. And he's been everything you just described.

Well, that was a disaster of an outing for Machamer. If he can ever find control, he's going to be special.

Darn... Bases loaded, no outs in the top of the 8th. Two walks and a HBP

Schaenzer got us out with just a single run. That's pretty good and only one inning for LSU to make up 7. That's a pretty tall order. Hopefully, we get this pretty expensive win.

We are putting a hurt on LSU's pitching staff. All 11 runs are earned. We have the first two on against Reese. Looks like we are going to score on him also, but Marshall gets caught trying to advance to third.

Pompey comes through so we've scored earned runs on every pitcher they've put in there.

I can hear that LSU fan on our radio broadcast when we gave up the lead-off HR.

Great we get the first game 12-5. It was pretty expensive in terms of bullpens for us but we got the first win.

I don't think so. UK and LSU are 1 and 2 in the SEC in HBP. We're both just good at it. ;-)

I get the impression that college pitchers just don't have the control that MLB pitchers have. I think they hardly every hit a batter on purpose. Just my opinion. Does anyone disagree?
