We are a bad offensive team. Can't shoot free throws or 3 pointers...no post game...disaster

This is just a poorly coached and assembled team right now. And no that doesn't mean fire the coach.
But I've seen this same song and dance against two horrid-mediocre teams this season and now a third.

I hate watching Ben Simmons play. To see that sort of talent wasted on a team going nowhere where we'd be a legit contender again with him.
Kentucky is horrible... I love my squad but I'm being honest when I say that UK shouldn't be ranked..
Kentucky looks like a high school team tonight. Play like this in the 2nd half and we have another "L".
We can't cut in to the lead with Simmons on the bench and the rest of their team is really not that good, this is sad.
It's time to realize this is the worst team of the Cal era. The NIT team, with a healthy Noel, at least had heart. This team is Charmin soft, and honestly doesn't seem to care much outside of Ulis. The home crowd at Rupp keeps them engaged, but on the road this team looks like they would rather be anywhere other than on the court.

I hate to give up at half but I think the L is firmly in place already.
I don't see any answers for this team. It's just Skal is a bust, Proythress is what he is an athletic role player who is just as likely to look overwhelmed as he is to perform at a high level and our guards (with the exception of Tyler) are either wildly inconsistent or simply can't shoot and the book's out on them.
This season is going to be a chore to watch the rest of the way and I am not looking forward to the Kansas game at all.
This is the same exact effort we saw in the UCLA and Ohio State games. WTH happens to these guys when they get on the plane? Why do they lose their ability to play as soon as they leave Lexington? They looked like a reslly fluent and complete team Saturday night and now we see this. I'm so disappointed. We are better than this.
IDK, maybe something different. Whatever the staff is doing right now isn't working. We can't use "it's only December" anymore. This looks like the exact same fumbling team we saw against UCLA.
I don't think they are poorly coached. But for starters, Briscoe should never log a single minute other than at PG, and since he isn't displacing Ulis, he should be a back up. You can get away with a PG at the top of the offense that is nothing but a creator and driver. It absolutely KILLS any offensive flow to have a wing who the defense has ZERO fear that he can make a jump shot.
This team has MANY issues, but it starts with Briscoe on the wing. There are zero driving lanes for the so-called dribble drive, because teams don't even guard him.
What I would do is insignificant. I don't think it's fixable at this point anyway unless we can trick Jones into trading Simmons for Skal heads up at halftime.
Sometimes you just make mistakes and you can't correct them. It happens.
But who are the shooters? The only ones I would trust are Ulis and Murray. And even they are streaky. Those guys will have to carry UK this game and for the rest of the season, and right now they are a combined 4/14.
When you run a guard oriented offense, you better be able to make shots, especially when you drive to draw fouls. A Free Throw % below 60 at this level is beyond ridiculous.

Problem is the hole we will have dug will be too deep for this team to crawl out of. If this team gets an 8 seed I fear they won't have what it takes to do what 14 did. They are more like the 11 team but I don't remember 11 looking this bad on the road.

We have a team of mismatched parts. Players having to play out of position. Said it all year long. This group seems to have been cobbled together. Not sure what went wrong with talent evaluation but, something certainly did. Maybe we miss Coach O more than we thought we would. Hard to see any real development since game #1. We may even be worse.
