Any chance gets ky get put in that region? If ky does drop to 7-10 do they even care what region ky is placed in at that point? Seems like this happened to Uconn when they were 8 seed a couple of years ago and they went to NYC for regional.
At this point we need to worry about just winning enough to make the tourney. Looks like this team is going to have several more losses and we're no lock to make it!!Its always possible but I dont think it happens for 2 reasons. #1 the NCAA never does us any favors and that would be favorable. Im not a conspiracy nut at all but I do believe we are a program they tend to let fend for themselves. #2 the NCAA likes money. They know they could put us in the Mars regional and we would somehow get 30k plus fans to the red planet to paint it blue. They would much rather slip a closer but not too close mid majorish school in there in hopes that they bring 15k or so since they are "closer" to home, a team like Dayton or UC maybe.
I think we are gonna have to earn that regional the hard way if were to get it. It can still be had but we have to find some answers in the next few games. We cant have any of these head scratchers in February. The next 3 or 4 games are pivotal. Right now were hanging our hats on a win vs a Duke team thats taking some L's and a Louisville team that seems kind of middlin' themselves. 3 or 4 Aubun type losses could cancel those two wins out in the eyes of the committee.
No matter how it unfolds everyone needs to just take a deep breath and relax. We are playing a high risk high reward game due to our approach. I cant see this group tanking totally so I think were safely in the tourney and we know thats all that matters. As rough as that 13/14 regular season was the post season run was the stuff dreams were made of. It was a total buzzkill losing in the title game but right up until that game it was magical. Some may argue that a like run isnt likely and while statistically they may be right you can never guarantee we wont be a threat simply based on the talent we always have. March makes stars and we have a dozen or so every year that are chomping at the bit to be the next one.
Just enjoy the ride folks. Some of you are missing a special time whilst you nitpick every flaw. I have admitted to not being a Cal fan and being a much bigger football fan but I am happy with the way coach has handled the program in his tenure. Some argue he wastes talent and maybe he does but the fact of the matter is you have to get it to waste it and the man can get it in bushels. He has a nice collection of F4's, a title, an impressive run on our biggest rival in a time where theyve not been too shabby themselves and a helluva slew of talent in the NBA representing the Big Blue. Maybe some of you feel he isnt meeting expectations and thats your right, Im just saying look at our history and look at what he is in the midst of. Talent or not he is engineering one of the greatest runs in our history. Let that sink in, rethink your approach and come back with a new perspective if you find yourself on the negative side of the equation. If you cant be happy now your likely never to be happy.
