Louisville fans at the game

I was at the game in the lower bowl Saturday. You could tell by the amount of Louisville fans at the game that they thought they had a good shot at winning. The ones around me were very nice and very quiet. The ones that were in their larger section as we were filing out had every excuse in the world. Cunningham wasnt healthy, bad play calling and the best one the UK referees stole the game. I said to one of them that Levis has literally been playing on one foot most of the year and is still not healthy enough to run well. I know all fan bases have excuses and maybe because I live in Louisville I hear their excuses the most but they have to be the biggest babies of a fan base I have seen. When Petrino 1.0 was there and they were just kicking our rear I literally said you all are better coached and in alot of cases you have better players. Now that the tables have turned they literally cannot handle it. I will give them their due when they deserve it, but most of their fan base seems to not be able to do that. It truly is little brother syndrome and they literally think they are Alabama. They have played in sub par leagues for the most part, and even the ACC while a better league, is still not the SEC and never will be from a size and speed capacity. Ive just never seen a fan base that has accomplished so little be so arrogant. It is true that for years UK FOOTBALL just cashed big SEC checks and took butt beatings annually. I dont know why it took us so long to get serious about it other than poor AD`S and poor coaching hires (Curry, Mumme, Morris, Phillips) I ALWAYS said from the time I was young when Uk decides to get serious about football Louisville will never compete with us. NIL and Adidas may change that because they are buying some very good players now and they could flip the script on us again if we dont get with the times. anyway... I am rambling now, but Im just so sick of that fan base thibknig they are so much better than they are. For all the years UK was not good, and that was alot most fans understood the reality. We are a bad team in a really good league. Louisville fans just due to winning in really bad leagues fro so many years never had to face reality. I am enjoying watching them wallow right now!

They thought they were gonna win! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Watch Cincinnati the next 5 seasons.

Yes, the Big Twelve will be ACCesc, minus Texas and Oklahoma, but road trips to Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Iowa State, K-State and even Kansas will wear on them more than the G5 size and talent did. I predict they will not see a double-digit winning season for a long while.

Louisville lived a poor man's dream for two decades . . . out-recruiting 90% of their typical G5 competition, on at least par with UK, and frequently having to face only one or two legitimate P5 rosters per year . . . UK, occasionally, and a bowl opponent.

On these threads, for 25 years, I have questioned the football acumen of many of their fans, pointing out the differences in P5, G5 and FCS teams to those who tried to debate certain facts, frequently suggesting they speak with real Cardinal football fans, like @PushupMan, who knows football inside-and-out, and who has a multi-decade posting history, here, and elsewhere. Unfortunately, as he recently posted, he no longer regularly attends games . . . .

I'll never forget a post on TOS, from 2014 or 2015 . . . on a Cardinal Forum, after Louisville had dropped a road game to UVA, who has a smaller trophy case than Vanderbilt. In essence, a regular Card poster said "the transition to P5 football is tougher than we anticipated." --------- Yeah ---------

And, now, with having had eight full seasons in the ACC (not counting 2020), U of L has yet to replicate a 10 win season, and they had the greatest collegiate talent I have ever seen at QB for three of them.

This is a concept most of their fans either just don't understand or refuse to understand. Even still, the ACC has been a joke for several years now (minus Clemson until recently), and they still want to puff their chests about inflated win records against awful competition. They'd be competing for 11th or 12th regularly if they were in the SEC.

I talked to one UL fan and he was pretty cool. Older guy. He expected it to be a defensive battle, and I gathered that, if that was the general consensus there wouldn't be many UL people in the stands. But it seemed about the usual proportion to the number of UK fans.

Watched the game from home and thought we had a slim chance. Our anemic offense kept putting the defense in a tough position. Congrats on your win and good luck in your bowl game. Not sure either of our programs will ever compete for a National championship but coming from the SEC UK probably has a better chance.
The player who threw the bottle should be dismissed from the team or at least should sit out any bowl game
Win with class and lose with humility

This one is hilarious because the officiating crew was an ACC crew. When played at Louisville its SEC officials, when played at UK its ACC officials.

Exactly. Fkrs blew more calls than a UL recruiting hostess. I wanted to pour drinks on em at halftime. Never saw any holding on UL on offense and criminally whiffed on our receiver being thrown out of bounds 20 yards down field. Don't get me started on the dirty birds punching, throwing, and hitting our players after the whistle. Those officials needed to be smacked around.

Love that Stoops wouldn't let em leave the field at halftime

They were also horrible at game management. Let UofL play dirty all game - kept calling players for personal fouls instead of unsportsmanlike conduct - because if they called UC then players would've had the threat of being ejected. Had several referee conferences, where you could tell they were really confused about the game situations, such as the intentional grounding call and where to spot the ball - btw the grounding call was also wrong.

Exactly. Rewarding them with offsetting penalties ALL GAME.

You'll never see an ounce of logic out of that fan base.
On their boards they actually believe Loserville will start beating us
What are they smoking ACC talent is so far behind SEC it’s a joke
In Louisville today not a peep of a Louisville presence anywhere
No top prospect even consider uavel a destination School

Money will keep em in it locally. It won't do much on a national scale but they don't need to do much to be relevant in the ACC. They played their schedule and still wound up 7-5. They'd be fighting for basketball season in the SEC.

MEANWHILE all the car flags have vanished, all of the gear is folded up and neatly stored away, and the license plates are getting tinted plastic shields until next summer.

The guy that did the Clemson SC game is my least favorite.
Loeffler’s crew usually isn’t too bad. Every crew has had their moments (it is the SEC - Birmingham calls the shots). The #1 guy I never, ever, want to see is James H. Carter Jr. He hates Stoops, but not why I dislike him. Very crooked. He rode the short-bus when he was a kid. He’s dumber than a box of rocks.

Cmon @JonK65 ... you're wearing UK underoos right now, aren't ya? You know you want to cheer for us... huh...? Right..?!

Where do we send the gear to get you on the side of the good guys?

Cincy will likely be like Mizzou WAS their first year or two in the SEC. Good first season. Decent 2nd year. Then reality hits

I'll be honest. I don't actually follow them nearly as closely as you do. I just remember one game in particular that everytime he showed up on screen I got mad. I can't remember which game.

It’ll be worth watching.

I might be wrong, but I doubt they win a conference division as did Mizzou, especially if Fickle bolts to Madison.

Reality will bite them on the arse with their first back-to-back road trips to say, K-State and West Virginia, with 60K+ screaming idiots and a lot of border-line 4 Star opponents that were overlooked and rated 3 Stars, who stayed home to play for Old State U, and have been lifting for three years, and are pissed off they lost at Oklahoma State by a field goal the week before.

The new Big 12 will come nowhere close to the modern SEC, but it will provide a grind that playing the SMU’s and Houston's of the world simply don’t.

They have better football history then we do. But they think they are a top 30 program and I swear it's not the case. I just laugh at them.

UK’s history would look very different with UofL’s schedule and conference affliations. Bear Bryant won a national title here…

We did not win a national championship. That's dumb af to say. UT and OK did if we go by the real thing. Final vote 6th and we won it lol. We acting like ul fans lol.

Mmmmm.

They have nary a winning record in their history against any P5 conference . . . we at least boast a solid winning record against ACC and Big 12 opponents, and are w/i a few games of a winning record against all Big Ten opponents. That’s one reason I like us to play Big Ten teams in bowl games.

You are not too bright. I’m only 32 and know how college football was back in the day. BYU “won” the national title in 1984, for example, beating 6-4 Michigan in the Holiday Bowl. You can’t be this stupid? Kentucky actually beat Oklahoma, lol.
