Well, he doesn't have a UK offer, so...

Cal has to feel great about Zion, Barrett, Reddish if he never even offered King
Cal has to feel good about his odds of signing the higher ranked kids if he doesn't even feel the need to at least offer a 5 star talent like this kid, who has been wanting Cal to offer. I know some might think if Kentucky offers we jump to the front, but I'm not so sure at this point. If Cal offers, Kentucky probably makes his list, but how serious would the kid think about signing with Kentucky? When a kid asks for Kentucky to offer with the media, what happens if months go by without being offered? These kids have been known to have large egos. If no offer comes, has to be a lil embarrassing for the kid with the rest of the recruiting class. I have no idea or pretend to know the kid. If Cal offers next week, he might commit. You just never know.

10-20 ranked players usually don't think like this. While I do think it's part of Cal's plan to not offer King, I am surprised he hasn't given an offer to a middle of the pack 5-star that could provide a couple years of production. As previously stated, Cal must feel great about the 2/3 positions to not offer. Though King "cuttting" his list to 8 isn't exactly meteoric so I'm sure there's a good chance to be added if we offer.
I would guess he feels really good about Zion and thinks he can pull either Barrett or Reddish to go along with Johnson and Quickley10-20 ranked players usually don't think like this.
